Pretty surprised by how many dummies in here think its ONLY cals in vs cals out.

Yes Cals in vs Cals out will make you lose WEIGHT but doesn't guarantee you will lose primarily body fat. Good luck with your skinny fat goals of peace

I wish people would get over this aerobics fad, it's like everyone is still stuck in the 80s just the same way as everyone still does stupid Weider-style high volume workouts.
Agreed. My squat sessions were taking a hit because I would do cardio twice a week..no thanks jeff. Long walks for an hour to burn an extra 400 calories result in the same amount of fat loss as cardio, and it impedes recovery less.

Ab definition hasn't improved much at all in comparison, Abs are visible but not lean enough. I want to continue losing more fat to get my abs ripped, but by this point the rest of my body feels to thin.

I have nice definition everywhere except my abs. I lose all motivation to continue cutting because of this situation.

what da fuk do i do pls
Me too. Everyone in my family is saying I'm getting too lean/look sickly..everyone at work/school/people who I haven't met in awhile are saying the same thing. My face/arms/traps/delts get lean first but my lower back/abs lose fat last..so I'd have to cut to like 10-12% to see it..which means my face will become even more sunk in.

No fukks given though.

Yeah you're right..that's why every smart guy ITT saying cals in vs cals out also says that you have to continue to lift/progressively overload/try to keep your strength up in the gym along with being in a deficit.

Retard..tell me what else in the fukking world one needs to do other than eat in a deficit, lift heavy/progressively overload and burn calories taking long walks/doing low intensity cardio?

inb4 muh HIIT, muh carb recycling, muh keto, muh no gluten/sugar/processed foods lmao. *******s like you are why the vast majority of the world population are obese/confused about fat loss. It's as simple as 3 things.

BMR = 1750 calories
TDEE = However many calories you burn a day over your BMR (I burn a minimum of 950 calories a day guarantee according to my fitbit) so it's 2700
Daily calorie intake to lose 1.5lbs a week NOT taking extra cardio/calories burned above that 950 calorie mark = 1950'ish

BAM. Easy as pie. You can even eat 3000 calories one day a week, and lower the other 6 days a week..as long as the calories after 7 days average out to 1950-2000 calories eaten a day..you're in a 750 calorie deficit below your TDEE aka losing 1.5lbs.

THIS.

IS.

SCIENCE.

People underestimate their bodyfat %. To actually reach and maintain 10% is A LOT more complex and harder than anyone thinks. Those that say 7% 9% etc are just full of chit.

I'd say your average person is 15-25% bodyfat.. even the guys that look somewhat lean with a pump

there's just so much fat on the glutes/hamstrings/love handles/lower back/chest that people pass off as muscle when it's not

Sprinters and swimmers use drugs and do intense weightlifting. That's the reason for their body composition.

I'm not saying HIIT doesn't work, it does. It just doesn't work as well as simply adjusting diet and increasing weightlifting intensity. HIIT is very limited in scope since it only recruits muscles in the lower body, mostly slow twitch, and "cardio" is actually adaptations in the muscle cells themselves so you want to recruit the entire body and all muscle fibres. Only weightlifting can achieve this.

I have a cousin that I sometimes hang out with and I haven't seen him ingest another fluid than beers and the occasional coffee. He'll drink a minimum of 6 beers for dinner and when we go out, he orders up to 10 beers a night. He doesn't workout, but does construction. And he is ripped

I then have this other cousin who played professional/semi-pro soccer in Austria until the age of 30 and was in excellent physical shape througout. Eventually, he ran out of a contract and settled for an office job and is now raising a young family. He never drank or smoke and eats pretty clean. However, as he stoppes playing soccer, he now has a pretty big belly, without changing the quality of his nutrition

And sometimes you can't help it if you injure your back from squats, then you can barely move for 6 weeks. Eat 1800 cals a day and gain body fat so the fat on top of muscle makes you look like a ****ing linebacker.

Then once you can lift you have to go easy and not go back to a 6x a week lifting plan.

Fuuuu I hate injuries. They say eat less but then you wake up throughout the night starving.

tldr; you are wrong
lool dead.

I always went wrong with cuts in the past because I would not count macros/cals from things like cooking oils, milk in teas/coffees, or be starving when I got home and just had 'a couple biscuits' or something, all of which would knock my deficit up by like 500 and push me to my maitenance level (or very close to that).

Best way to cut, is to track EVERYTHING that goes into your mouth on myfitnesspal, increase your activity level (e.g. walk 10K steps a day everyday instead of 1500 or something, and will burn an extra 300 or so cals, or add cardio in, so you can eat more) and just give it time.

Cutting is fkn boring and lifting weights is so unmotivating knowing that you are not going to be making any gains whatsoever.

I swear to God, I am never letting myself get over 10% bodyfat ever again.
