where exactly were the officers supposed to have time to do that? The dog barked then 2 seconds later was out the door, he barely had time to draw and fire

It's not just about the tail. It's the entire behavior of the dog. The dog in the video was not displaying aggression at all. You're performing ridiculous mental gymnastics and focusing on subjective elements to try and prove your point. The cops weren't on public land, they were on private land. The doorstep of the apartment complex is still the private property of the complex owner. It's very clear that cops need training on animal behavior if this is your reasoning. Like I said before and you ignored, there are millions of people in America with dogs, and I'm sure situations come up all the time where they aren't secured while the owner is talking to the cops, yet they manage to stay alive.

Nothing you have provided ITT has been concrete reasoning to justify their actions. The only redeemable thing you have stated is that the owners had a responsibility to secure the dog, which is correct, but the cops also have a responsibility to react to certain situations WITHOUT RESORTING INSTANTLY TO DEADLY FORCE.
barking and charging is now not aggressive?

it is your job to control your dog just as if that were a ups, mailman, gas man etc.

The cops had a lawful reason to be there, not only that but they were in a public place, once the dog goes from private resident into the public that is the fault of the owners.Cops dont "remove themselves from the situation" stupiest thing ive ever heard
Just because you keep repeating this phrase, doesnt mean anyone said it.

No one said the cops should remove themselves from the situation". What cops should be doing is handling situations differently. Not that anything we post will have an impact on you anyways tho.

Watched the video again. Officers had time instantly once the dog barked to call out to the owner, did not. 2 seconds later dog appears in the doorway, stops, does not cross the threshold, and is wagging it's tail. Stays in the doorway for 2 full seconds wagging and looking back for the owner before going outside. There was time to react with something different other than deadly force.

No, it's not, you're fukn retarded for thinking so.

Barking is how dogs communicate you ****n mongoloid, happy, sad, angry, excited, etc. It doesn't automatically mean aggression.

The dog didn't charge. Watch the video. It clearly stops in the doorway/threshold.

You're being a real fukn douchebag here. I've tried to concede the only point of yours that makes sense, and you keep misquoting me and providing absolute dogchit logic.

The dog, based on video evidence, acted as if it were going to attack the officer. I think it is (unfortunately) justified that the cop felt threatened and pulled his gun to protect himself.

I hate seeing stuff like this though. Dogs are the goat.

Of course they are, they were bullied from pre-k to grade 12. Usually the key motivation to become a cop, no surprise they quickly allow the power to take them over.

owner leaves door openthe owner clearly pushed the door so as to minimize the gap between the door and frame, which the officer stopped and reversed
cop pushed door open to get a better view (legal)whether or not it's legal, you can now argue that by doing that, he may have provoked the dog to come to the door, when it may not have otherwise
dog comes out rushes copthe dog clearly stopped in the doorway first before continuing. not really "rushing" him
cop utilizes only means available at that point and is forced to shoot.if that's his only means available to stop a dog less than half his size, he shouldn't be a cop
owners responsibility to secure dog...
literally the only point any of us agree on is the last one. the rest are all easily logically argued, yet you seem to be denying common sense for no good reason

and lol @ needing police training to handle this situation. you're really making yourself look stupid.

brb better go get my badge before I head to the dog park
brb better carry a gun on me anytime I go for a hike, because apparently that's what my training will tell me

my mind is still blown that I was legally allowed to work at a doggy daycare with no firearm or police training.

so before they were cops, when hey were younger, picking on people, then grow up to be police who then use their badge as a shield to commit other crimes against people. solid life choices.

and just to be clear, im not a cop hater but I do hate cops like you. my brother is a cop and he would never subscribe to your delusional rantings
