Just another incident of a cop shooting someones dog......

cliffs;
-cop knocks on door
-person cracks door open
-leaves to get her roommate who is the one in question
-while she's gone the cop pushes the door all the way open allowing a dog to come out
-first cop at the door pulls out his "wood shampoo" stick
-second cop behind him shoots it.


You think that if the dog was going to attack it would have attacked the cop on the doorstep. I wonder why postal workers (where their job is to go door to door for 8 hours per day) never have rampant incidents of killing peoples pets?

She should have shut her door why would she have left the door open when she knew there was a dog in the house?

That shooting was unjustified regardless as the dog wasn't doing anything except barking but I have to put some blame on both parties.

If you aren't the one in question they can kiss my ass. I have 0% trust when it comes to LE so they are welcome to break into the home and get shot or let the door get shut and wait for the person they are wanting to question.

I've always said that if a cop shot my dog, I'd go get my gun and shoot the cop. 0 fuks. Dead srs.

Matter of fact bc my dog is intimidating at home, I should just start keeping a gun within easy reach in case of this situation.

People need to learn to not answer the door for cops. PERIOD. NEVER EVER ANSWER THE DOOR FOR COPS. Nothing ever good comes of it. If they have a warrant or propable cause let them bust the door in, then if they dont sue the **** out of the department.

Totally wrong thought process here. Cops show up to your house and disrespect your whole family, you probably are just trying to get the situation resolved as quickly as possible, not thinking clearly. This is 100% the cops fault.

Only time cops have come to my door in the last 5 years (after I was doing dumb chit wrong) was bc a neighbor got robbed and they wanted to know if I saw anything unusual. My dog did start barking tho so I said, I'll be right back I just need to put the dog away because he gets upset. Wasn't an issue.

Dog was aggressive. Are they supposed to wait for it to attack them? Bad owners led to it being that way & she shouldn't have left the door open or the dog unchained.

It's like I'm watching a different vid. The dog comes out and lunges the officer. Boom, no more dog. I love my dog and I have seen other vids where the shoot was not justified, but the LEO aint gonna wrestle with a dog, not gonna let it bite him, etc nor should he. Some blame on both parties? Amazing how people see what they wanna see watching the same vid.

Would I have shot the dog under those circumstances? I don't believe so and would have attempted to try something else (don't know what his options were, such as pepper spray, etc) but will that be seen as a justified shoot via the SOP if the PD? Yes it will.
