lol'd i remember my parents giving me a pair of legit shoulder pads for backyard football games when i was 8. i wore them one game thinking i was going to be unstoppable and nobody would be able to tackle me...LMAO, just lmao it turned out to be a disadvantage because they just kept horse collar tackling me.

i had football cleats and elbow pads as well. childhood backyard football is serious business. thought i was michael irvin srs

lool

the closest my generation came to kick the can was with hockey sticks, until we hit people's fenders and got in trouble

how about knee ball? anyone ever do that? just football on your knees on the rug in someone's living room on a slow afternoon, no homo

honorable mentions:

cops and robbers

bike wars (demarcate a section of the street with chalk, ride your bike in that closed-off section, trying to knock other people off theirs, if your feet hit the ground you were eliminated)

bike wars was brutal, always caused inflicted the most pain, I remember one kid broke his collar bone from falling too hard LOL

Came back in this thread to talk about kick the can. Made out with a sloot back in the 80's while hiding during this game. Awesome game.

Played OP's game often, along with peg ball.

Use the blue tennis balls and throw it at the wall, if someone catches your return ball you go up to the wall and with your back facing the person who caught it gets to throw it as hard as they want at you.

We played apple core often too >_<

Used to love manhunt. We used to play almost every night in the summer when I was a kid. All the kids would dress up in camo and dark clothes and we would section off boundaries in the neighborhood. We would have like 30 people. I would be hiding under peoples porches and in sheds. As we got to like the 12 and 13 year old range it was mainly played to make out with as many girls as possible.

Them 90s feels.

Now that I think of it I never see it played anymore.

Aha good old days. We used to have monkey fights too, two people hang on the monkey bars and you'd try to boot the other guy off

We used to play 3 flies too.

Could do it with baseball or football. One guy bats to himself or chucks the football as high as he can, everyone else fights to catch. First one to three gets to bat/throw.

The GOAT playground games. Wish adults still played games like that. Srs.

From what I've seen Aussie Rules Football is basically professional smear the queer.
oh yeah

wall ball..... with the blue rubber ball that hurts even harder than a tennis ball.

nowadays these soft kids would call the cops or cry or something......

but back then we would play that **** every morning before class in middle school, and we would throw that as hard as we could and sometimes we would leave a red mark on someones body, that **** would hurt lol

Hell yea smear the queer and wall ball were amazing. Worst times getting rekt were when somebody would miss you running to the wall, but it would bounce and crack you in the face. Good times.

Favorite game in our neighborhood was Capture the Flag.

We'd get everyone in the neigborhood together and play just massive games at dusk through the night til like 1-2am. Like 30 ppl just hiding in backgrounds, crawling through construction sites nearby to get to the other base, facing off in the middle of the street, great phucking times man.

Great phucking times man.
