"Hey you, sir, excuse me, sir, stop that. Trooper, do you need some help, sir?"
"YES!"

It's just that western states like Arizona, Wyoming, Montana, etc.. are mostly rural. Good people there. I can't wait to move.
Depending on where you are, the weather/rural-ness can kill you. Helping people like that is just a thing they grow up with.
If you're raised in the rural west, you find it really strange in more urban east coast, west coast and city areas where people just ignore folks who are in need of help.

With that said, I agree about the western mindset. People say it's "conservative", but it's more libertarian than anything. People put up nice five-to-six-foot walls around their backyards and stay out of each other's business, say "good morning" on elevators. It's kind of exhausting having everybody acknowledge you if you're from the northeast. Rural people in towns that are healthy, where they can provide and their kids can have hopes and dreams, are great.
Nah, fukk that. I’m not doing that.

It's a different mentality out West. Just another reason I love the western states (Not including the west coast)
Nothing like driving down a dirt road out in the middle of nowhere, and waving at the dude driving by you in the opposite direction. It's like the jeep wave, but it's with everyone, and it's not because you own a jeep, it's because people in the rural west genuinely care about each other.

Also just lol @ the #notall argument. So if #notall BLM members are out to cause harm to cops, does this also mean that #notall cops are out to cause violence against black people? Therefore why is there a need for BLM in the first place?
inb4 black people disproportionately targeted by cops (despite all evidence stating otherwise).

Yes that video does represent the BLM movement. it's a chant that can be heard and many of their "protests". as was said it represents the group BLM NOT ALL BLACK PEOPLE. just like all white people are not white nationalists not all black people are with BLM. so while the hypothetical white nationalist group does not represent all white people they DO represent their group. representing a group is kinda why groups do marches and such.

The very fact that society is so heavily politicized right now because of the left, no doubt at all
Microaggressions, trani toilet, pronouns, gay wedding cakes, bomb clocks, global warming causing black riots and on and on and on
Now in a thread a miscer simply asks if it was BLM member, because facts tell us that it is likely, they lose the argument
and they all of a sudden "Whys everything have to be politicized?"

There is no specific protocol preventing citizens from assisting. This guy took it upon himself to help out which ultimately saved the Trooper. I know if I was in the Troopers situation I would hope a citizen was close to help like he did. Especially a armed citizen.
Then again I'm a city officer in a medium/large department so my situation is different. We typically can have backup within minutes. Troopers routinely find themselves in desolate areas with little backup.
I can only assume that the citizen first asked the Trooper if he needed help so that the Trooper could identify him as a good guy and not another bad guy with a gun. I'll need to look up more information on the incident.

The good Samaritan isn't doing too well. Apparently he has a lot of guilt about taking a life. That's got to be hard to deal with even though it was justified.

Understandably though, he must be dealing with some post incident stress.

It prevents you from getting into a scuffle the cop prefers you not be in and lessens the odds of you being mistaken for another bad guy.
Getting involved in this kind of situation is very risky and many LEO's and professionals in the defense industry specifically advise asking if the officer needs help before interjecting.
