Unfortunately OP appears set up for the worst of both worlds. Why ever get married, if not to have children? No, you don't need to be married to have kids but it is ideal... on the other hand, being married WITHOUT having kids = all the downside of divorce rape, alimony etc. with no upside of legacy etc.

I guess I'm wondering, if you don't want kids why would you ever get married in the first place? Can have companionship (even lifelong if that's what you want) without involving the state.

The thing I miss most about being kid less is when we would completely mail it in on a sunday. I'm talking super lazy sht. TV and naps. Esp after a hard work week

I'll take that as a no, you aren't going to answer that question.
Presumably your parents chose to stop having kids at some point, even though they could've potentially had many more. By your definition they are as selfish as the rest of us. Won't somebody please think of the non existent children?!

i don't plan on having any. i am sure i will regret it when i am 70 and alone but i just don't want the hassle of kids. i am too selfish

you're right. forget kids. they aren't worth the trouble. expense, lack of sleep, stress, expense, worry, all that bullchit. having no kids means i'll never have to worry about money or wondering how much money I would have if I didn't have a kid. fuk it. too many people in this world already.

I had my child young. At the time thought what have I done with my life. Turns out it's the best thing ever. I absolutely love having a child. Now he's older he comes to the gym with my friends and I and he comes to most things I go to apart from drinking obviously. I can't even imagine my life without him. Saying that would I do it all again now at this age? Probably not. Now I'm older I've gone more selfish and realising I probably won't have any more kids. It's never stopped me doing the things I want or having my own ambitions.

Everyone is different op, not everyone needs to have kids, or should, but my experience is this.

Never thought I wanted kids but something changed very quickly in my thirties. Got a two year old now and one on the way.

It changes u big style and how u think about the world. Mainly because the love for a child is like nothing else u have experienced, u only really know what I mean when u have kids.

When my boy says "daddy, wrestle" and jumps on me, or "daddy, play cars" it's cool as **** and makes my day.

Sure, the first year was a culture shock, no sleep, little training, babies just sit there a do feck all, but when they get some bit older it gets cool and I still find time for what else is important to me.

Just don't start until ur mid thirties is my advice, or after if ur girl is a bit younger than u. And make sure u can afford to have them/support them properly.

Lots of people don't want kids before your 35. Thing is if you ever want them you have to do it then.

I didn't want kids at 30 but I did it anyway because even though I liked my freedom and loved my life I didn't think I could live that way forever and I would be curious to see what it is like and it would be too late.

Not saying kids is the be all and end all, but it is not what it looks like from the outside. For all the stress and tiredness you see in our eyes there is a joy and love that supercedes what comes before that balances it out. Think carefully about a 60 year old you and where you want to be before you close that door forever.

I'd say that a good porition of myself wants to have kids (80-90%), but I don't want to get married.

I honestly find getting married and not wanting to have kids bizarre as fuk doe. Isn't the whole point of marriage like the introduction to having a family? Why not no kids/no marriage?
