I'm on the fence with gay marriage. Because I believe people should choose what they want to do, but raising a child in a same sex parent household just doesn't seem right to me. I think a reason that puts humans above other animals (on a long list) is the ability of having 2 parents (normally) around and learning from both. Im not worried the children would become maniacs or killers. I'm just worried they wouldn't have a certain set of skills to function properly in the world. I dont know what exactly. But every child should have a mother and father figure. Two same sex parents couldn't do both, no matter how butch or gay the person is.

But an argument to my point is people grow up all the time with dead beat parents and learn to function like normal humans.

So in the end, I support it. But we won't know of any negative or positive effects until were long gone. Since this is just starting to become more acceptable.

Research indicates that the average male homosexual has hundreds of sex partners in his lifetime:

The Dutch study of partnered homosexuals, which was published in the journal AIDS, found that men with a steady partner had an average of eight sexual partners per year.[12]

Bell and Weinberg, in their classic study of male and female homosexuality, found that 43 percent of white male homosexuals had sex with 500 or more partners, with 28 percent having one thousand or more sex partners.[13]

In their study of the sexual profiles of 2,583 older homosexuals published in the Journal of Sex Research, Paul Van de Ven et al. found that "the modal range for number of sexual partners ever [of homosexuals] was 101-500." In addition, 10.2 percent to 15.7 percent had between 501 and 1,000 partners. A further 10.2 percent to 15.7 percent reported having had more than one thousand lifetime sexual partners.[14]

A survey conducted by the homosexual magazine Genre found that 24 percent of the respondents said they had had more than one hundred sexual partners in their lifetime. The magazine noted that several respondents suggested including a category of those who had more than one thousand sexual partners.[15]

Replace homphobia with disgust, no one is scared, it's just groce

Perception of Gay Men as Defectors and Commitment to Group Defense Predict Aggressive Homophobia

Homophobia encompasses a variety of attitudes and behaviors with distinct causal paths. We focus on aggressive homophobia, a propensity to feel anger and express aggression toward gay men. We investigated the conjecture that homosexual males might be seen, in recent Western cultures, as defectors from collective group defense. We predicted that consistent with a functional motive to punish and deter free riding, the perception of gay men as defectors would motivate aggression toward gay men.We also predicted that individuals with greater commitment to group defense might show more aggressive homophobia (as these individuals have more to lose from the defection than individuals who are not committed to group defense).

I don't think the "think of the children" argument is really valid.

Of course there would some idiots telling their adopted kids to be gay. But there are so many more straight couples where the dad doesn't stick around, or the parents are on drugs, or the parents are just dumb as fuk and raise the kid to be dumb too.

The point is yes, SOME of the gay parents would be bad parents, but a large percentage of straight parents are terrible parents too. So it's not about if the parents are gay, it's about if the parents are good parents. At least gay couples never have kids on accident, they only have kids when they actually want them

For Miscers who say two adults, they can do whatever. Would you be fine with your brother marrying your mother?

Just 2 consenting adults... Easy to be accepting when you don't know the degenerates, I don't give 2 ****s if a father and a son fuk each other, but if those 2 adults were my brother and father? We need to draw a line. We accepted homos, ok, incest is no go.

And for the record I think homos are low life degenerates. They can marry I don't give a fuk though.

I'd be disgusted, and probably disown. Doesn't mean they can't do it.

I don't have to worry about it, my family is normal. Normal people won't find themselves affected by this.

Though like I said, in cases like that I am concerned about abuse.

How about we treat them like the degenerates they are and seclude them from society? Don't talk to them, don't hire them... What we should do with trans people tbh.

Do whatever you want. But a texas sized "fukk no" on the incest marriages. ****s now are pushing to lower the age of consent so they can bang underage boys. You give them an inch, and they try to take over the yard

My other issue is with parents who encourage their kids to choose their gender and allow them to get on hormone replacement therapy at 10 years old

My feelings shouldnt have no say on whats legal and whats illegal. Id probably fid it weird as fuk, and would need a very long hard explanation just to see if i cut contact or not, and most likely i would cut contact for my own mental sake, but thatstheirchoice, itd hurt me but there are many things out there that woud hurt me and they are not illegal.

For example, my brother marrying the woman i love, that would hurt me to death and i would go no contact on both of them for my own sake, that doesnt mean it should be illegal.

Compared with that, the human life is only a blink, just a little time. In that short time - people are born, laugh, cry, fight, are injured, feel joy, sadness, hate someone, love someone. All in just a moment. And then, are embraced by the eternal sleep called death."

While I agree that a mother/father family is ideal for a child, I think that a father/father or mother/mother family is better than being tossed around to different foster homes or being raised by the state.

This is child abuse and should be punishable by prison. I am also against forced normalization of these types of behaviors, but we live in a supposed "free" country. The solution is for government to be out of marriage completely.

Bygones be bygones.
I think incest between a female/male is as disturbing as homosexual relationships.

Truth be told I really don't care what other people do however.

Age of consent should probably be about 15-16 across the board. Anyone who thinks the average 18 year old is somehow more mature then the average 15-16 year old is delusional. There are a ton of factors in maturity. Furthermore the fact that banging a 16 year old is legal in one state and is a felony in the next kind of doesn't make any sense.

I agree pushing hormones on underage trannies is fukked up though. So if I feel like I should be more muscular, that I'm a jacked guy in a skinny guy's body... I should be given AAS then? Same logic as a tranny getting hormone replacement therapy.

I don't necessarily think more government regulation is the answer. However normalizing it/pretending its acceptable is disgusting.

It takes considerable hoops to jump through for kids to get hormone replacement.

Its not like they tell the doc "i wanna be a man" and boom they get test, or vice versa. They have to see a psych for a long ass time, who then signs off on the paper to allow it happen.

Then its entirely up to the doctor to ultimately approve it. Its a long and arduous process. Its not a walk in the clinic and walk out with hormones.

There is already a considerable amount of research out there looking at this. Kids who have grown up with same-sex parents are just as healthy in every way as children of traditional parents. In some metrics, they actually fare better than other children, likely because gay parents who go through the process of adoption or surrogacy are naturally going to be very invested in that child (whilst many children of straight couples were unplanned, etc).

What children need is a loving, nurturing environment where are supported in all of their endeavours. There is no reason why two women or two men can't provide that.

I believe that in the states with low ages of consent, that it applies only to other minors. can be an adult and bone a kid

Sodomy is illegal in 13 states and goes against a lot of people's morals too. Do you want to police everyone having anal and oral sex also? Didn't think so.

- In theory I got no problem with incest.
- In praxis Incest in my opinion in most cases is wrong, because it is quite impossible without an abusive relationship/damaging one party even if well meaning.
- In special cases like your examples, I don't see anything wrong.

However those examples are really hard to achieve. The only way I see these scenarios are achievable however, is if one partner grows up in a different family and meets his sibling/parent unknowingly.
I actually think outlawing incest might be the best solution still.

However there are significant differences beetween living out incest and homosexuality.
Got a crush on your sister(or brother, mom, dad)? Moving on and finding another girl is not really a big deal.
Are you into guys? Moving on and smashing girls pretty much is.

Thing is those kids would grow up in foster homes with no parents at all.
So even if two dads/mother is significantly worse than an ordinary family they will still likely have it better than in an orphanage.

I think a lot of things are wrong, and shouldn't happen, but I'm not gonna rely on the government to outlaw them. They do enough damage already

What is your rationale for drawing a distinction between the two of them?
As long as they aren't breeding, let em go to town on each other. The DNA pool is already pretty ****ing gross...it's irresponsible to dirty it up with more broken genes.

OP my 0.02:

In my world the one and only reason gay marriage should be legal is because the government should keep their snooty nose out of everyone's business. But a whole bunch of topics from economics, regulation, gun control etc fall under that banner so my opinion on the legal status of gay marriage falls under a larger topic of government intervention.

That said, I echo what a lot of people said ITT. Two consenting adults should be able to do what they want, whenever they want, however they want in the privacy of their own home so long as it doesn't affect others. Gay, lesbian, two transgenders getting it on with their own siblings - I don't care, it doesn't affect me. I find it repulsive but it doesn't have any affect on me.

What DOES piss me off however, and this relates back to the government intervention thing again, is when this sort of activity is, with threat of legal action, forced down everybody's throats. Such as the case I read where a baker that refused to make a wedding cake for a gay couple be fined. Another case happened in the UK where a Christian couple who owned a B&B refused to allow a gay couple share one bed and faced prosecution for "discriminatory reasons". Or when transgender people start getting access to the new gender's bathroom etc. When people's freedom gets infringed upon because of this madness is when I have a problem with it.

Edit: another issue that needs addressing is the involvement of innocent children in these kinds of things. Gay adoption and same sex parents is a whole other issue altogether. Again what two consenting ADULTS do is of no concern to me. If they want to **** themselves up go nuts, it's their choice. But I'd wager a bet the kids that are the result of these types of arrangements are gonna be majorly screwed up when they're older.

the number of people who are gay/lesbo/bi is the same as those who are incestuous. assuming the incestuous ones don't have kids, why is incest more damaging than homosexuality? what are you drawing this conclusion from?

Second, all 3 examples are all just incest, you you're acting like it's 3 different examples when it's really just one.

And lastly it's 2 consenting adults who aren't hurting anyone, so idgaf what they do
first, i know they're not.

second, yes all three examples are incest

third, i guess that means you dont care if people commit incest. that's all i was looking for

not sure what this vid is about. it goes too slow, and skipping through, im not sure what stance the guy is taking. sounds like a very clear speaker though

thats besides the point
1. are you okay with gay marriage?
2. what if the two people getting gay married are brothers?
3. if you are okay with 1. but not 2., please justify. both cases involve just 2 consenting adults and that's it.

Moving on and smashing girls pretty much is.
thanks for a well thought out response
