This is the worst Alien movie in a long time. Alien Covenant sucks.

Let's be honest here. Ridley Scott made 1 mediocre horror alien movie in the 1970s. It was James Cameron, at the height of his movie making powers in the 1980s, when he made ALIENS, that catapulted the Alien franchise into superstardom. It was Cameron's ALIENS that everyone loves. If James Cameron never made ALIENS, then Ridley Scott's Alien horror movie would have stayed and died in the 70s and there would be no franchise today. The first Alien was a mediocre horror movie, nothing special........

Now, Ridley keeps trying to make a good Alien movie, but they all fail. Although, I will say, I didn't hate Prometheus. I liked it a little bit. Prometheus is way better than Covenant.

Ridley should just accept, that even though he created the franchise with the 1st movie...... that's not the reason why the franchise lasted this long and had so much popularity. It's James Cameron's ALIENS that gave the franchise longevity and a huge fan base.

If Hollywood wants to make another good ALIEN movie.... then beg James Cameron to come back and make one.

The Engineers - and the whole plot about them creating humanity and then their own creation creating something better than them angle - are more interesting than Xenomorphs at this stage. I liked Alien: Covenant a lot because I'm a huge fanboy of the Alien Universe, but it's obvious that Scott changed his angle a bit to appeal to studios/ people wanting mindless gore, which was never the focal point of the first two Aliens anyway.

Cameron is too busy vomiting out Avatar (one of the WOAT sci fis) sequels and deep sea diving to do anything else at this stage.

I wanted to like Alien Covenant and was hoping it would be more like Prometheus than another Alien movie.

I wanted more backstory about the Engineers and all that fun space stuff.

But it was more horror and gore. Which is fine but not what I was hoping for.

AC answered a lot of questions I had about Prometheus. I quite liked the movie but Danny McBride sucked, I am a big fan of his but he just didn't pull it off.

Also where was the badass soldier? they were all pussies.

I liked Prometheus way more. I liked the big questions and Dr. Shaw's faith. I actually cared if those characters lived or died. I didn't really like any of these characters. I liked the villain though and how it ties into other stuff.

Overall, I didn't hate it but it could have been a lot more. Still, a decent movie. I don't regret the ticket.

I enjoyed Prometheus a lot and Alien Covenant was awesome.

Yes it left more things to be answered but I was pretty satisfied at the story and how it turned out.

No movie can be perfect. Looking forward to Alien Awakening. Hnngg.

I liked it. Saw it in extreme digital so it was loud and scary.

This movie was a huge disappoint for me, might as well called it Alien: David. The movie was lacking more scenes with the engineers. I prefer Prometheus over this movie by far. Covenant landed on the same planet as Prometheus so there has to be other planet or planets with the engineers. How many times are we going to see the same scenes with them running from the aliens.

Saw it last night scariest part was the previews for some box demon movie.

I was lost the entire time in the movie had no clue why robo dude was crazy or why he killed everyone or why it crashed after that.

Also lold that in every scene someone would run off solo. Like wtf who does that no buddy system?

I really liked Prometheus because of the engineers plot line and that's why my expectations with covenant were high. Ridley just missed a huge opportunity with that ****ty story.

Same sentiments here. Prometheus brought a much large philosophical plotline with creation, engineers, something more large scale. I knew Covenant was going to link it all up to the colony owned by xenomoprhs but I wasn't expecting it to dismiss all of Prometheus within 10min and just do a watered down version of Alien(s). Still, it's worth 1 watch. Prometheus had a small cult following, maybe they wanted something more mainstream, all they're are getting is even worse reviews now. The mystery and potential behind the engineers and creation of life was pretty decent, and it was discarded pretty quickly.
