if you want to bench 80 kg, drop the weight until you can do at least 5 reps (at least, and I don't recommend sticking around 5 reps all the time), and work up until you can cleanly rep out 80 kg with control. you don't want to end up get shoulder surgery.

that's why I tend to avoid barbell free weight benching. its too complicated. I'm doing dc training, and It can be easy to run out of exercises, because if I don't make a PR, I have to use a new lift next time. I'm working with dumbbells, smith, and hammer strength presses, but once I need more equipment, ill need to get a new gym. obviously I can come back to that lift in the future, but I don't know how its going to work out yet. I don't want to free weight bench with a bar. **** happens, and it may not be in my full control.

She's 140 lb benching 176 lb, clearly not a beginner and this isn't her first time maxing out. Maybe the risk of an accident is high if you're a moron or a beginner. It was a slow enough grind for her to rethink her whole entire life but she was very clearly in control.
They said she's gone too far this time

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

you're a low test retard. Don't give advice with the avi you have. Pretty sure you could drop the barbell no matter how heavy it is. It's still pretty unlikely if you aren't using a suicide grip. At best you can fail the lift if you're decently trained for which you have spotters which she does. Just go back to reddit

She's a powerlifter you dumb fuk. Maxing is the whole point. She benches 70kg for 3-4 reps, and she warmed up all the way from 40 up to that 80kg.

The reason I am standing back is that I knew she'd just done 70, 72.5 and 77.5 so that even if she can't get the rep up I can just quickly grab it off her chest if it doesn't move. She doesn't like me near the bar when she's pressing.
