Did nothing wrong. When he realized he got a Kent State attorney he knew she would go ballistics if he did anything wrong procedurally.

See what I mean? It's easy to say "nothing even happened", because yeah luckily nothing did. But if it had happened, like it has before, these types of stops can be scrutinized as things that should have never occurred in the first place. It's like people getting arrested for nothing and then charged with resisting arrest. Make legit stops or expect to be scrutinized by the people that pay your taxes. Don't forget you're a public servant and if your video/dashcam is available to the public, then not everyone is going to agree with your line of thinking
lol ok.

Whites get killed by cops too ya know?

Have you ever even heard about the Zachary Hammond case??

Unlike pos of Michael Brown and Trayvon, Hammond legit got killed by a blowhard hardass cop right in front of his gf.

Here ya go, but ya know.. he's white so idk if you'll care.

I find it humorous that this is even a story. "OH LAWDY he did a routine stop on a black person with power chit son it gonna get real."

The implication here is something else. Like her position somehow makes her immune to routine stops and this cop is "wrong" for it? Lol they just can't help projecting.

lettuce be real tea, if zachary was a black guy, you would have been saying "if he didn't want to get shot, he shouldn't have driven off like that", "he shouldn't have been high on coke and driving, he was endangering other people's lives", "this guy had already ran through previous police checkpoints to avoid being arrested" and "play stupid games, win stupid prizes"

Hammond had used cannabis recreationally and was driving under the influence of ******* when he died.[10]Previous text messages revealed a prior unwillingness to submit to law enforcement authority, and he had previously run through several police checkpoints in order to evade arrest,

Routine stop? When cops stop you hoping they'll find something to cite/arrest you for? She was stopped forno good reason. There were no laws violated here.

Did you not read the rest of the thread where it was discussed that LEOs will stop people if nothing comes back from their tags? What if they were fake plates or something? Do you think the cop wouldn't have stopped a white or Asian person whose tags came back blank?

You know that "what if" game never ends. They weren't fake.

I don't see a difference between driving around with tinted windows and wearing a costume in public to hide. The officer should have the right to find out if the person "hiding" is hiding on purpose, or by accident. Otherwise, the FBIs 10 most wanted would just walk around in a mask + drive in a car with tinted windows and never be caught.

It's not a "what if game". It's not "no good reason". It's a legal, investigative stop. If a cop ran my tags and they came back without a return, I would hope he/she would pull me over to see what the issue is.

This isn't over aggressive policing, it's just good, proactive policing. Let me ask you something, if in the video it turned out the attorney was white, would you have any issue with this stop? Honestly. The officer wasn't aggressive in the slightest.

He wouldn't have posted if it didn't involve a black person. In fact, the video would have never been taken / it would have been considered a non-issue.

Cops can pull over anyone without cause. Its how they find stolen cars/drugs ect.

This case was not racial profiling.

However profiling is a good thing.

My area 80% of knife crime is committed by young black males between the ages of 18-25. Of course the police are going to stop more young black males....

Same with break ins, in my area 70% are committed by white males between the ages of 25-45. It works for a reason.

must be nice to be treated like an innocent citizen from the start....its due to fear on the cop's part but still...must be nice

I worked for a wood stake company in Houston and I drove a Monte Carlos SS that I kept clean. Well one Friday I was on my way to cash my check after work and yeah I was a little ratty looking and as soon as I turned onto a main street two cops got behind me and lit their lights up. They asked me to get out and stand behind my car then asked for my license, registration and proof of insurance. All my sh!t was legit and when I asked them why the pulled me over that is what they told me.

An investigation infers that there was a crime. At best this was a glitch in the "machine." I see no crime here.

False. In fact, I post in all thread involving the violation or potential violation of any citizen's civil rights regardless of color. However, even if I was guilty of your claims, this situation presents a good enough reason for me to get involved. Don't you think?

An investigation just means there could possibly be a crime. The result of "no crime" doesn't mean an investigation wasn't necessary. Plates with no returns can come back to all types of crimes, it's 100% reasonable and legal to stop the vehicle and investigate.

You could describe it as overzealous but it wasn't aggressive and most officers and most community members would agree this is good proactive policing. I've pulled people over for similar reasons multiple times and they are always understanding when I explain to them what the situation is and why it's important to investigate these things. I believe that's an important dialogue that is missing between police and community members, simply talking to people and explaining why police do the things they do. A lot of times what seems like an aggressive abuse of rights is a perfectly legal stop and is actually for the betterment of the local community. But if the officers don't explain the situation and the reasoning for their actions, it can leave the community member with a bad taste in their mouth.

And there were no violations of any rights in this video. The state attorney from the video even agreed to such herself.
