well my life sucks compared to some of the posts itt..

for me probably first rave, EDC NY. always watched festivals online and finally i was 18 and would be able to go lulz.

transferring to a big college this fall from a CC.. can't wait.

i think the most ive been consistency happy was when i studied abroad senior year in new zealand for 6 months. Every day was an adventure, everyone was friendly, everyone wanted to do something all the time, i basically had my degree already so classes were a breeze, hiking, drinking, lifting, girls, meeting people from all over the world. It was an incredible time.

Quitting my job in 3 months to go travel the world for a year now that I've saved up some cash. Gotta do it now before I regret not doing it forever

I spent 1.5 years working on 2 research projects in undergrad. Would go to the lab for entire weekends, and most weeknights until 1am. Was all i cared about, never saw friends outside of class. Spent $700 of my own money to buy more materials.

Presented the second project at a conference, legit had someone run up to me cuz she was so excited about my abstract. Srs, nothing compares to that feel i got, and im not talking about the girl herself. To have someone run up to you to ask questions about what you just spent the last 2 years dedicating your time to, nothing can compare s to that for me.

Between 15-22 were the golden years.

- Brb high school. Parties. Girls. It doesn't get much easier.
- Brb getting driver's license at 16 and drive around in your beater for hours. Zero fuks given.
- Brb falling 'in love' during high school.

- Brb university.
-Literally played vanilla/bc WoW for 8-12 hours a day for 5 years straight.There will never be another high comparable to the dopamine rush playing WoW.

Would give my left testicle to re-live those WoW years.

They dont settle for a men like most late 20's women do, so they are actually happy with the choice of a man they made. They have all the time in the world to figure out their future, so they dont stress about it, or worry about it too much, which naturally is what older girls do. Since there is no stress, there is no nagging, they just want to enjoy life and love like it was meant to be. Still 100% financially supported by parents, so literally nothing to worry about. No mortgage, bills, engagement rings, having the best social media of the group (well at least back in my day that didnt mean ****), no nagging or worrying about the future every day, etc.

Since there is no stress, libido is sky high, girls are wet all the fukin time, at least that was my experience. My HS gf was down to fuk 24/7. Going to a movie on a rainy day was 100x more enjoyable, because now if you take an older girl to a movie on the back of her mind shes really thinking "ok, this movie is fun, but where is this going? Is he serious about me? What about his job, can he buy me my dream house? Hes hot but what about that ex that is always talking to him? Damn my best friend is at Paris with his fiance and im here watching a movie with my boyfriend.... yeah im pissed, im gonna give him **** for something later".

You come out of the movie, ask her if she enjoyed it, she says "yeah i guess" and starts looking at her phone, surfing trough the 6 different social media apps she has on her phone.

Right now. Im the happiest and healthiest ive ever been in my life, mentally and physically. just a few years ago I had terrible social anxiety and was a recluse for the most part, now I go out every weekend and get girls and social circle is growing all the time. Ive got an extremely laid back/low stress job, no debt, no kids, no pets, financially comfortable, and im extremely optimistic about the future.

my times in the navy were the best and worst times of my life. Traveling to NYC, Boston, SD, Chicago, Hawaii, Canada, Guam, Korea, Japan, Thailand, and the Phillippines for free over a five year period with seemingly unlimited money is something I will never experience again.

That is some brutal chit, but I think there is a lot of truth to.

I liked where you touched on the physiological consequences of modern lifestyle. The more I read about stress, the more I see how terrible it is for our hormones.

(Slightly off topic... But Peter Joseph has a book out called the new human rights movement, where apparently he talks about and links to research, showing the negative effect that scarcity, and consumerist society has on physiology.)

IME women my age (I'm in my 30s) are usually thinking long term (understandable, physiological aging begins at approximately 30). The days of finding carefree romance are dead for me.

I never had any of these fantastic moments during school/college/Uni. I was too busy slumming on video games, and being a social misfit. I had girls in Junior school easily but in Secondary (High) chit was phucked, and those are really the most influential years.

It wasn't until I was 23 that instead of hoping good things will happen, I decided to make them happen. So all my "best" moments are post-23.

I can tell you two of them - One was hiking and camping in the Bavarian Alps. For two weeks. It was the first time I was truly alone in a completely foreign country, I felt like a true mountain man. It was gruelling but ultimately the most difficult thing I had accomplished. Standing on the top of Zugspitze, looking south and seeing the expanse of The Alps laid before me was a feeling which is hard to describe.

The second one was coming here, also for two weeks and at the beginning it was horrible - but 3 days into it I had a stroke of luck and met good people, really good, combined with meeting them and my experiences following I just knew I had to move. Every time I came here I was super switched on, a completely different person and it was good times. Now I'm settled and I've gotten used to things, so I'm waiting for the next round of happiness to come along.
Into- Mountaineering, running & Djent/Progressive music.
Anti- Lack of accountability. Censorship, fat acceptance, & current wave feminism. That's why I left the UK.

I still reminisce when I was 20-23... Just bought a house and my gf cheated on me while I was away for training so had one of my boys move in with me to help me out.
Best thing that ever happened to me honestly. Non-stop partying, always throwing bangers at our house with mad slutskis. We both made decent money so we could afford to just do whatever we wanted whenever and were still young enough to work the next day with no sleep.

Ahhh those were the days, I'm getting all worked up just thinking about them.

In hindsight those years played a huge role in my development as a person. No longer socially awkward, confident with myself, not caring what anyone else thinks about me. My buddy I lived with gave me the best advice when it came to girls; told me they want sex just as bad as we do. Seriously mind blown at that point but that was a complete game changer. Blossomed into the beautiful flower that I am today.

I haven't seen a decline in my happiness/lifestyle tbh.

Its all about how you run your life.

Too many people getting married early, kids, stuck at desk jobs they dont really like with lots of near retirement boomers, disliking their own lives.

In fact I feel until I was 25, I was still not enough of a man to really enjoy life. I did not enjoy life without responsibilities IMHO, I know it sounds weird but it is. Nothing is truly enjoyable in life unless its earned.

first 18 years of my life absolutely sucked, was overweight and got bullied at school...had no confidence, became a socially isolated loner...

19th year was decent, started developing social skills, lost weight and people took me more seriously once I got in shape at uni. Still the shiet from earlier yrs was still in my head and caused my to do an overdoose suicide attempt in my uni room which failed but did result in me being in a coma in the intensive care unit at hospital for 4 days.... (srs)

my 20th has been by a long way the best yet and I think I am almost a normal person but still slightly fukked in the head, for the first time ever I can see myself being part of a social circle rather than being completely on the edge of everything.....hopefully I can tick some things off my list that most normal people do when they are like 14 lol.

Hopefully I haven't missed out on too much feelsbadman but also at the same time I am just happy to be alive
