lol this,

Even trying to manhandle a 50lb dog to put on a leash is a hassle when they're squirming around.

She was grabbing **** and throwing it at people. That's worse than stealing. That's stealing and breaking and harming other customers/stuff.

If you can't cuff someone for that what the **** can you cuff them for?

Lol @ that chick. "He attacked me!!!" I'm actually impressed with the restraint that he showed. Lucky she was female tbh... if it had been a dude (even a small one) kicking up a fuss like that he'd have been choke slammed right there in the store.

Handcuffing is pure force. I promise a shift full of my co-workers couldnt get a pair on me with striking or using a baton/asp.

Little chicks like that are hard to cuff in that you can easily hurt them. I say he actually did a good job.

Finally some logic, but target can go hands on/reasonable force depending on the circumstances

Depends on state law, but policy is concealing/stealing merchandise and being aggressive. In this instance, target isnt invovled here other than it happening on the property

Yes and no. Team members cannot intervene regardless of circumstances, however AP can only engage a shop lifter and do what they can legally (usually reasonable force) to detain, however cuffing on the ground is against policy, along with approaching the situation as he did and without attempting de escalation

Ideally they should get security that are strong, but gentle. Someone that could just pick the fragile kunts up and hold them in place without hurting them

Most of these video's seem to be a matter of the enforcer being too weak, which results in them needing to do "non gentle things", which results in the situation escalating

If they could prevent escalation while restraining, then that's the best outcome

And there should be no outcome where punches need to be thrown on someone that is unable to hurt you in any significant way

He is (I think) asking what's the point of the security people. Are they just there for people who just give up when challenged? Or are they actually able to... you know.. provide security beyond just being a presence.

I see.... "to protect people, profits and reputation"

The reason its called loss prevention is because instead of being "security" in this sense, they are there to protect merchandise and employees. What happens between two people, while on the property, is not in their control. They are not police, they are not there to enforce the law other than shoplifting.

shoplifting, trespass, if they see assault going on they an arrest, they have all the power a regular citizen has, generally companies just want them to do lpo work though if they can call cops for anything else
