You're a business owner, that is literally your baby .. I'd be worried if you werent spending more time just to be making sure things are running smoothly until you reach a point where you have someone capable in charge who run it while you do other stuff.

We're talking about the regular office drones who think working long hours is something to be proud of.

many business owners end up creating themselves a job rather than a "business".

but obviously it'll be like that at first.

40 hr workweek is such bs. I used to finish my job in 5-6 hours because I was fast as fk but instead of going home early they made me do bitchass grunt work. hated it.

also used to come into work 30 min late everyday but I still got the job done on time and they gave me sh!t. I was like, wait, u mad that I'm more efficient than everyone else? ok.

I think doing this for a salary position with an earnings cap is a little ridiculous. But if you have a more open earning potential then you're gonna get out of it exactly what you put into it.

In general tho I agree we are inefficient and overwork as a society

Time management.

I know because it's something I've always struggled with, and that's probably because I'm not doing something I truly enjoy, therefore I'm not intrinsically motivated to stick to a schedule.

Work in sales, usually work 50-60 hours/week, but a lot of it is spent doing netflix/miscing while working leads in a passive way, so it's cool. Also get paid OT on my base salary so it's doubly profitable.

Worked at a recruiting firm that paid 50k+ (45 hours a week)

Quit that job during lunch break to go back to continue building from personal training (I also take some shifts at the facility that pays $10 an hour for like 20 hours a week) (Private high end gym) (multi millionaires) (srs) (they treat me like a human being) (Growth opportunities in my current job that I LOVE btw)


I cannot stand office life and idk how people make a career out of being a slave to higher management bonus checks (I've seen first hand of upper management firing employees right before the 6 month mark so the new employee does not receive his/her commission check and that lump of money goes directly to the bonus checks of upper management)


Fuk that chit, people told me I was crazy that I gave up a good paying job. I was mirable living the office life

I am much happier now

Work for government and only work 8 hours a day.

My manager works less than that, she's doing it right.

Some days take long lunches and still leave @ the 8 hour mark.

I do purchasing/inventory management. Used to come in early, always work thru lunch, and usually stay late a bit so I was working about 9-10 hours a day. I also learned our system fast as fk, boss was super impressed, so after my first year and a half I asked him for a small promotion (basically just take "junior" out of my job title). He said I wasn't ready yet but "appreciated how hard I worked"

Since then I show up 15 mins late, take a lunch, and leave 4:55 everyday. Still the most efficient person in the department, but not worth slaving away over when the company doesn't care about you.

Work in controls engineering. Working 77 hrs/week right now. I save almost every penny. I'd rather have a bunch of **** you money in the bank than spending it constantly on new toys and chit. Nothing beats the feeling of having a fat bank account.
