i watch it because its similar to pro wrestling to me. you have all these theories and leaks. you then predict what happens and see if it does. so your mind gets blown 2x over.

There's barely any fantasy. One of the great thing about GoT is that most people in "their world" don't believe in magic, dragons etc. and most magic is considered myth. The show is like 90% realistic medieval, 10% fantasy, although as the show draws to an end the fantasy is increasing.
Also, due to the sheer popularity of the show (literally no show comes close), one with moderate intelligence would at least watch the entire first season due to the high probability that they enjoy it. A show doesn't get this popular (among all age groups) for nothing.
To give my anecdotal input to what others in this thread have been saying, the only people I know that don't watch it are unintelligent.

Its slow to get into because you dont know where anything is and who the people are. Spend an hour looking at GoT wiki characters section to get to know everyone, sure there are other websites out there too.
Then just force yourself to watch the entire first season. If you dont get hooked by then you are probably a boring ass ******* anyway.
I didnt watch it until season 6 came out because I too thought I was better than the show. BRB so edgy. Decided to start watching a few episodes and ended up watching 5 seasons in a month.
