Sparring against a guy whom you outweigth by 50 lbs and has zero boxing experience isn't exactly proof of your skills.

Most MMA fighters and even kickboxers don't really have good hands since they need to spend most of their time working on other stuff.

Hell, just look at the top Muay Thai fighters, especially in Thailand. Most of them have chit boxing as they focus mostly on kicks, knees, elbows, and clinch work. Boxing is almost an afterthought.
