Now look at my age in my avi.

I just had my blood work done and it was perfect. Even the kidneys when all I have heard from everyone who THINKS they know is taking that much vit C is bad for them. Since starting to take 20 grams a day 5 years ago, which is 20,000% more than the average person gets a day...my skin is amazing, great energy, cholesterol way down, energy way up, and my heart feels awesome. It actually cured my twin bro of his heart disease. All goes back to collagen and inflammation from low grade scurvy as a result of not getting enough vit C.

I get much of my via C Fit pre workout and BCAA mix. 3 grams per dose baby.Average person might only get 100 mgs a day.
is your avi chopped?

I'm an actual doctor and I can confirm this. Similarly, people who are paralyzed or are missing limbs tend to have lower serum creatinine because they have less muscle mass. Creatinine is a decent surrogate for kidney function.

OP, I've never evaluated you so I can't interpret your kidney numbers. Could some other supplements be causing kidney damage? Sure. The supplement industry in the US in under flimsy regulations so while there are reputable supplement companies other putting out quality products, there are others out there with more shady business practices.

It may be worthy to get a second opinion from another doctor who has more experience with lifters.

Over how long were these two measurements taken? If you had progressive kidney damage, that number should be going up over time. Even if you have normal creatinine numbers, there are other markers that may suggest kidney damage such as protein in your urine. Even if you consume a high protein diet, your kidneys are supposed to be able to filter proteins from entering the urine.

The other thing is that reference ranges are established by finding an upper and lower limit that encompasses a 95% of the population in the "normal range". Since you're a lifter, some of your numbers may fall slightly out of the range. From a reference range point of view, your numbers are barely high and a lab error is all that is needed to put you in and out of range.

Numbers are one thing. Correlating them with the patient's presentation is another.
My bad I confused the numbers

The range max is 1.2 I had 1.4 2 years ago and right now it's 1.3

The problem with that is, and believe me everyone should be eating healthy, but if you try to get enough vit C from just eating food, you never will. One orange for example might have only 50 mgs of C in it. You would have to eat 20 am day just to get one gram.

I have been taking 15-20 grams a day, without fail, for almost 6 years now. Had my blood and kidneys tested 3 weeks ago. Results came back perfect.

And understand that the medical industry makes billions of dollars off of the treatment for diseases that taking more C can prevent, so they have a vested interest in poo-pooing how well C works.

Linus Pauling was a Nobel prize winner who lived to the age of 95 I believe while fighting cancer the last 20 years of his life with the help of vit C. He literally saved my twin brothers life. He had a heart attack with 2 stents and 3 blockages 6 years ago. Almost died and felt horrible for a year when on the doctors drugs to treat it. In fact the one block without the stent grew by 30%. He found Paulings regiment, got off the drugs, and within a year his heart disease was gone. He is alive and well today living a great life. No medical drug can do that.

Coming from a guy who used supps throughout his 20's, and just had testicular cancer, I would minimize the supps you're taking as much as possible. I'd also consider switching from whey to organic plant based protein.

If you're gonna be taking a ****load of supps, eat tons of fruits and veggies which help detox and strengthen your body on a cellular level like berries and bananas. Brocolli, spinach and turmeric. Eat as clean as possible. Try to make your own food and avoid eating out unless it's from a good restaurant you trust. Stay away from fast food.

I would cut protein powder unless you really suck at eating

The rest I would do every other day or 3rd day.....you don't need all that chit and you're wasting your money. Your body can only store so much,.....why keep over doing it and piss/chit it all out?

I do fish oils when I eat something super lean like a salad with no dressing, or a steak with little/no fat, or chicken.....

A lot of unawares on the misc.
I am a process engineer.
Heres some logic: supplements is a big business, maintaining consistent quality control is expensive. Also depending on where you live legislation has loopholes which can be utilised to produce "defective" supplements. If you live in America legislation bodies such as the FDA for instance are all corrupted.
Keep taking your supps and you risk getting sick.

No thanks jeff to supps

Fruits and vegetables are what are known to both reverse heart disease and contain vitamin C (which, btw, cannot even be absorbed into the body at levels over 200mg - you pee everything else out), but it's not because of the vitamin C.

Also, you have the fakest, gayest chopped avi I have ever seen.
Don't knock it until you've tried it. Also, if I had a dollar for ever time science has been wrong and/or reversed itself, I'd be a millionaire. By the way the world is flat -- so says science.

I'm all for holistic and natural healing methods and take a number of ayurvedic herbs myself, but they are supported by SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE.

And you're missing my point. Science has failed us many times (especially when it comes to nutrition and health) and within that time has caused as many tragedies as it has had successes. If that's the foundation you're standing on then its not a very secure one. Tread circumspectly.

Anyone who lifts will have high kidney values due to the turnover of muscle protein. Doesn't matter if they take any supps. Find another doc who knows more about sports science.

fkn lol @ this thread

We have some Miscers leaving humanity behind with their crazy doses of the "supps" that actually get results.

Then we have some fretting that taking some creatine or fish oil is going to kill them.

Ya don't think it might be wise to rely on, ya know, tiny shreds of evidence and not go against the science for no phukking apparent reason, aka being a kook? Yeah, such a smart idea, gonna go mega dose every water soluble vitamin long term and see what happens. Even tho there are documented negative side effects to that, but you wouldn't care about that cus you irrationally believe niacin megadoses will help you leave humanity behind! Fuk science and logic and all that stuff cus science sux!!! Self experimentation in dumb ways 4 lief!!!

Just a few issues with your proposition:
n=1
Placebo effect
Confounding variables
Confirmation bias
Anecdotal evidence
Clinical relevance
Lack of actual scientific equipment and knowledge to measure results with

Brb gonna start drinking cat urine cus it just might turn me into Superman. Doing things that have no rhyme or reason doesn't make sense. I would sooner eat bull testicles for strength because that has stronger anecdotal evidence than long term vitamin C ultradoses.

Well taking creatine supplements alone leads to increased serum creatinine (which is the marker we use to determine renal function). So it's very possible that your blood tests are leading your doctor to think that your kidneys are impaired due to the high creatinine when actually it's just there as the metabolite of your supplement. And your kidneys might actually be fine.
