ITT more of my favorite posters reveal they aren't white. Seriously don't pay much attention.

Female, so no, wouldn't want to be an adult in the 50s. Being a kid then would be okay I think. Get to see the start of rock and roll, the sexual revolution/birth control pill, the whole hippie thing. By the 80s you should be around your peak earning level during an economic boom and likely married/LTR so no big worry about AIDS.

Good and bad about every time. Personally a huge fan of modern dentistry and wouldn't want to go backwards re:medical care in general. Love the internet; maybe too much.

And I really do think that racism is a learned behavior. My kid's two first besties were both mixed (we moved), her first when we move cross country was Mexican (they moved), and her current one is Indian.

Knowing what is possible now in 2017 I think it would be hard to go back to the 1950s and live happily. I enjoy most technology and there is no doubt it makes life easy. Losing all of it, and going back to a black/white TV box and AM/FM radio would be a shock.

However there is no denying family life/overall mental health would be drastically better.

- housewife to take care of family
- good jobs
- affordable real estate to majority
- simple life
- more morals/values
- men weren't feminists/hippies

Yes, but I might wanna live in the 50s for a short period of time (maybe a year). The 50s certainly has some appealing factors to me, but it might end up being "the grass is greener on the other side" type of situation. I might want to go back to the present day after being in the 50s, or maybe time travel to 1980 instead.
