Still have to watch that. But I have to say I did enjoy Wangam Midnight. The detail they go into in technical terms, the fact that the main character works 1/2 jobs to afford the parts, the long hours working by himself in the car, plus the fact that those races really happened in that highway make it much more real.

Nah man, he has to here FUNimation`s Piccolo, Vegeta, Goku, Freeza, Gohan, Bulma, Krillin, Roshi... I mean, these voices are part of what makes it so alive and memorable

This might be a tad bit too intimidating for a beginner tho, start with GOAT shows with 1 or 2 seasons before breaking in the big guns.

Also if you watch attack on titan watch it subbed. The american voice actor for the main character is a whiney beta ******* and ruins the show.

I still don't think you should start with full metal alchemist brotherhood. Start with either death note, attack on titan or one punch man. Full metal alchemist is good, but can probably be offputting for someone who has never watched anime before, with the "cheesy" anime humor, aka "chibi heads". Even if its a good series. I think you should watch it later.

I think people are using nostalgia to recommend DBZ. I'm a DBZ fanboy and all but if I were to start it now as an adult I'd likely drop it real quick. It gets repetitive.

I'd recommend starting with short series that are <24 episodes to get a feel for what you like.

Quality anime is just a way to save money on movie production.

You don't have to build giant models like in Star Wars, Blade Runner, and now I assume it's cheaper than advanced CGI. So, you can make a science fiction or fantasy story for a pretty cheap price.

Just because they are animated doesn't mean they are for kids. They were a way to save money.

With that said, Japanese humor can be VERY STUPID and I find it hard to take. However, there are good dramas and I will only watch them.

I liked Death Note a lot and have watched it a couple of times and I tend not to rewatching shows.

Black Butler was good also.

I tend to not like fantasy either and both of those were but they were very well done.

I LOVED Basilisk and actually read the book it's made from The Ninja Scrolls.

It was written about how people were insane in WWII and just killing because they were told to. However, the story is about two rival ninja clans. Perverted science and magic was used to make them killing machines. The king gives them orders to fight each other, but there is no reason for it. He wants them to kill each other, but they don't ask and just start killing. Meanwhile, there's two innocent lover one from each clan.

Even the introduction gets me.

I tried watching Naruto, Fairy Tale, JuJitsu Kaizen and CastleVania and could not get into them. Fairy tale was just so much standing around and monologuing I was bored to death.

I did like Neon Genesis Evangelion, Mobile Suit Gundam(and Wing) and Paranoia Agent.

I've seen a ton of Anime movies.

Spice and Wolf - you'll come away with a first class degree in Marketing and Economics
Full Metal Alchemist - satisfying to see the bad girl getting what she deserved and taking it like a champ.

Finally, real recent one - Cyberpunk Edgerunners. Not bad for ten episodes.
