Well you're on these forums a lot and you aren't shy on here.....probably best to use this platform where you're more comfortable to find someone.

I feel you bro. How many times have you heard "just gotta put yourself out there" .

Then really thought to yourself, "why arent I putting myself out there?"

Then realized "cause I don't want to"

Yes a few years ago I started meeting up with new people to try to make new friends and also going out in groups a few times etc. Was totally miserable and just didn't want to be there. Realized that I didn't want new friends and had to force myself to go as a chore or obligation instead of looking forward to it and enjoying it.
Same here. I never enjoyed going to social gatherings and meeting new people. Just found it boring. I find comfort in knowing that i kind of chose to be this way, but there are other things that bother me. But at least i can say that i have tried.

Yeah but dating apps obviously aren't working. You just need to take the plunge and start PMing dudes on here.

Right. The thing about loneliness is that it ends up being something truly internal regardless of your personal circumstances, and that it takes some serious introspection to both understand and deal with.

This is not necessarily true in all cases. My ex and I had a pretty big social circle due to our son and his friends parents. Guess what? No one invites the divorced people to the couple get togethers. So I lost not only people I thought were my family for 17 years, but friends as well.

It really did suck. Plus I lost my nieces and nephew. I was their aunt and loved them their whole lives and now, nothing.I haven't even been invited to their high school graduations. That's the hardest part.

Divorced brah, for the most part I like living alone...but I know the feels, and I get feelings of fear too. Feelings lie to us sometimes. So gotta deal in reason as best you can. My feelings can tell me I'm uncared for, but is that necessarily the truth? What does reason tell me? That hey some do care about you. Example My parents, my siblings, my relatives, my dogs (lol), a few true friends and even my ex-wife to some degree and I still GAF about her. Those feelings OP describes in the title do occur though, but I gotta TRY to see it for what it really is rather than what I am feeling it is cause feelings can sometimes lie to us. Not always but they can often. Even if it were true, you can do something about it. use the emotions as motivation to get out the situation.

His mom and dad invite me to Easter, but his sisters don't invite me to the kids things. That's nice that you get to continue seeing your niece.
