If they want true equality, make the races of the cast and staff the same as percentage as the census.

Can't say I give a **** when it's Hollywood. People complain about merit but there's **** loads of decent/good/great actors that never get shine because of politics and whatnot. The talent pool is huge so if they want to make it more diverse, then whatever.

To be fair, he's right in that in Hollywood or in movies in general, it's never been about who's more qualified for the job. Obviously, that doesn't make this right, but there's no real change here in that regard. Hell, just look at that one movie about the Great Wall of China that Matt fukin Damon starred in, which is obviously ridiculous in itself because how many white people were in China at the time? Of course, you can make the argument that it was the Chinese themselves who were "discriminating" against themselves, but this is also a case of white people discriminating against other whites as well.

The real problem is that it can negatively impact how believable the film is, such as in the example I gave above. It's like how every film now needs a token black, Asian, or gay guy even when they don't really fit into the movies (and tokenism itself is pretty condescending).

There are many minorities in positions of power and influence over others in this country. So for example, if you take an African American business manager, and he intentionally doesn't hire X candidate for the job because his skin is white, how is that not discrimination?
