05 and up has a lift system that allows you to elevate the front of the car a good couple inches.

It’s a very nice feature to have. Some inclines will be impossible without scraping.

I actually got a quote a while back, it wasn't much at all but then I'm 43 with full no claims etc. One benefit to being an old fart

OP, for reference, I have a 1996 Acura NSX with a 3000 mile/year driving limit that I pay $650/year for insurance, my buddy has a Lamborghini Huracan LP-610 that he pays $2600/year for, so im guessing you can expect around $1800-2000 USD a year on insurance if you have a good driving record and are over 25 years old.

As for maintenance, It wont be as bad as people will say, everything is crazy expensive, but I assume youre not going to be driving it more than 1000-2000 miles a year... If you are going to Daily Drive this car, then I recommend you buy a different car.
Thanks yeah would be low mileage, 6-8k a year possibly? Would like to take it into work occasionally but even my daily doesn't warm up by the time I get there as I'm not even 5 mins away.. I'd assume that wouldn't do a gallardo any good at all?

Thought so, we have a lot of speed bumps that I'd try and avoid altogether

Looks good, but near London every street has one, or an Aston or Porsche. Lambos are one of very few cars you just don't see that often outside of Kensington. Want to stand out from the crowd not run with it.

I don't think you should think about bidding on a LHD Lambo with that kind of cash on your account. It's a good amount of savings but if you're thinking this car will go under 70k, you must be retarded. You're looking into a LHD used and pretty old sports car. That means you actually understand you're on a budget and already stretching it. I also think Gallardo's haven't hit their bottom price just yet so I don't see them re-appreciating either atm.

I'd go for something relatively cheap and fresh, might want to look at the new Supra/Z4 coming out.

It's GBP so 70k is about right.

Really though, you can make the same argument about any car that isn't a Veyron SS.. you can't afford it. I'm curious what this goes for, will report back. I've been watching the values and they hit 55k a few years ago. 69k the cheapest I've seen since, apart from this one, maybe..

Yes, there's a million cars that are more sensible, practical, depreciate less, more enjoyable to drive.. but if that's your view, then you don't 'get' the Lambo thing at all I'm afraid.

The other issue, even if you could afford it is that Englands roads are ****ing horrendous.

Even driving my stock BMW w/ msport suspension is a bit of a nightmare through towns, i can't even imagine what driving a supercar would be like. A CEO at a company i used to work at had a Ferrari 458, and drove it to work about 3 times because of the roads, ended up just driving a porsche SUV everywhere.

High millage for a super-car. And its an old car/ aged interior. Outside is aesthetic though. On top of insuring it you'd probably need to set aside a good bit for maintenance/up-keep.

Insurance pricing varies depending on area. Over 30 years old with no tickets, crashes, or insurance claims. I'd be looking at Closer to 4-6K per year for insurance on a lambo.

Insurance is completely different in the UK to the US.

I do get it, but you're not really experiencing the Lambo thing if you handicap yourself like that.

buying a 10 year old used lambo is kinda lame, if you can afford a new huracan or something then knock yourself out, but buying an old and probably barely usable supercar just to say you have a supercar is not a great decision

Have you had a PPi done on this car? If not, let’s stop wasting time trying to guess what it will go for until we understand exactly what condition it is in. A bad Egear actuator is $6k. New clutch is about the same. What does the maintenance on this car look like? Is it documented? If you do not know the answers to these things then you shouldn’t waste your time on wondering what it will sell for.

Maintenance wise I hear it's a hit or miss like the Gallardo for those two, but you're not shelling out 75-80k just to get the car itself.
I have had both. While they are both V10s they are completely different experiences. Only reason to go M5 over Gallardo is if you need to daily drive something
