Wrong. It really is about callusing the mind. Motion creates emotion. Accomplishing something you thought was physically impossible allows your mind to go to impossible places. It makes you go, "Damn... I just did that. If I can do that... what else is possible."

Tony Robbins had a short lived TV series. One of the episodes involved a paraplegic man with severe depression that thought his life was basically over. The first thing Robbins did was make the guy go skydiving. He made the guy do something that was so far out from his mental reality that it wasn't even a thought possibility anymore. Very similar to FA'ers that have shut themselves out of any possibility of finding a woman that when a good looking women walks by they don't even notice. Anyways, after the guy gets done with the skydiving ... his mental barriers regarding what is possible were not shattered. Instead of looking at the world and only seeing everything he can't do ... he now saw possibilities. That sir, is what Goggins is any many others are after.

People tend to forget that physicality is one of the most related and respectable thing humans have with each other. That's why we watch sports, martial arts fights, crazy fitness vids, etc ... it is easily to relate to on many levels and therefore often inspiring.

This guy might be the most psychologically ****ed up man the World has had in its entire existence. But that fact wouldn't change that he has channeled his energy to INSPIRE many to achieve what they believed to be impossible.

It's strange to see so many people get so worked up in this thread. We're ALL slowly dying an inevitable death sooner than later anyways, might as well take it to the limit on occasion if you're so inclined.

What about his mind? From hearing him speak, I assume passing some rudimentary college classes would prove harder for him than any race he's ever won. A fat person wishing they could be like Goggins is misguided because they're leaving out the fact that he clearly isn't using as much "willpower" as he lets on. Sould overweight college grads who struggled through college inspire Goggins just as much? Quit with the hero worship, boyo. Lol @ misc psychologists

Can't we just admire what he's done with his life and not criticize him for not being perfect? No one is perfect.
Just to add to this as I just watched it while studying

@ 1:04:28 he says he is taking college classes and studying

Knowing Goggins he'll prob end up with a PhD

What a bullchit statement. Do you even know what it is you're trying to say? Or are you just throwing out random bullchit words to make sense of someone you simply don't comprehend? Have you ever done an ultra anything? Have you even done a marathon? You seriously sound like one of those 9-5 fatties that look at their fit 1-hour-a-day-gym coworkers and says, "I'd look like him if I spent all my time at the gym too. But I'd rather have a social life."

I remember when i was mountain biking across the USA. I had a day where i did 85 miles across Colorado. Then, at the end ... I had a 20 mile up hill at a 20-30% grade to 13,000ft. Twenty fuking miles. One of the most physically brutal days of my life. I'll tell you what though, when i finally got to the top of that mountain... the intense satisfaction... and the holifukness at what i did... it moved me up a few more rungs on that ladder of what "I believe" I'm capable of. That is the whole purpose in life... growth.

Motus Est Vita... Movement Is Life.

He initially didn't. Then some stuff about him went viral, people wanted more, and so he gave them more. IMO, he's actually terrible at self promoting and a believe a big part of it is because it isn't really his thing. He's not like your typical instagram douche that is only really in it for money and fame.

You have to love the blind hate from some of the guys in here. It is sad. It shows you the mindsets of someone who is close minded vs. open minded.

I literally started laughing at the guys on here saying he will be in a wheelchair in 10 years. He's 43, can bang out 20+ dead hang pull ups on a whim, easily do push ups, runs miles daily, stretches daily, looks 28, and is more fit than 99% of the guys on here. Most guys at his age are overweight, borderline type 2 diabetic, and can barely get out of bed every morning without back pain and a bum shoulder. Yet here you are, typical keyboard warriors threatened by what he does for whatever reason. I have never met more pathetic fukkers than on this site. You guys sit here acting like elitists because you can bench 225 and do 5x10 with 255lbs on squats. Then you retreat to a forum where you can be nameless and faceless, acting like you're something you're not, all to avoid your failings in life.

This guy was a navy seal. Are you? The amount this guy accomplished in 20 years in more than 99% of people accomplish in their lifetimes. And you think he gives a **** about you're ridiculous opinion? Some of you are so beta (and I hate using that word but it fits here) that you convince yourself your opinion of him defines him.

Dude is a fukking savage and warrior. Gives me hope. Not once has he said to do exactly what he does. If you honestly took that as his message, then you are legit fukking retarded.

I am willing to timestamp it. The quote is at 1:45:28 (on iTunes, if versions vary). That's the difference in mindset at the core of this disagreement. You are quick to argue on the internet but aren't even willing to substantiate your claims.

3 hours of burnt calories...seems like boring cardio, not sure how he tolerated it for that long.
Carb Mal-absorption, no breads, sugary snacks, rice, pasta...live off of 30-40g a day.
