There are fake people on both sides. The key is to figure out who is genuinely a good person and who is actually a fake person. It's actually pretty easy to figure out once you figure out the red flags or mannerisms. A lot of people have a hard time seeing this when they are falling for someone as a friend or partner.

I've been taken advantage of more times than I can count. I've been conned out of thousands of dollars by "friends" and I've been fired from jobs by completely incompetent managers who fcking hate me because I'm confident and know what I'm doing. This is especially true in medical scenarios and tactical settings.

Why?

Because I'm trusting and a nice guy in real life. (not nice guy creeper like FA's tend to pretend they are). Moral of the story? Who cares. You're going to get burned in life. You're going to get taken advantage of. You're going to get screwed over. The other option is to become a recluse and never trust anyone. You have to take these risks in life to develop true friendships and relationships. I have friends who I am 100% confident would take a bullet for me and I would do the same for them. You don't get those friends by not trusting anyone. That's a life lesson you have to learn.

As far as women go, you're going to get burned in that as well. I can write a 10 page thesis on crappy, psychotic, sociopathic, narcissistic, drug abusing, piece of **** women. They're everywhere. But guess what, eventually you meet some that aren't. The girl I'm dating now is one of the good ones. We've had a couple arguments and at no point did she go and hop on someone's dick because of it. That's because she's mature and acts like an adult. (something you don't see much of it if you pay too much attention to threads in here)

You get to that point in relationships by also taking risks. You're going to get burned, that's 100% guarantee. You'll survive though and you'll be better off in the long run.

My 2 cents.

What up my HTC comrade. I like you wincel.

You seem to be a really analytical person, and I'm going to focus on the underlined. I'm also going to write really in a way that tries to appeal to your analytical mind....

I think you're familiar with the basic tenants of the scientific method?

1) Create an explanatory and predictive model.

2) Compare the accuracy of the model, via observation and experiment.

Video reminder of the basics...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TgzbUuLMuBM

As you also know, scientists never claim that they will be able to ever reach certainty, only the probable and the approximate.

My approach to life, honestly, has been to apply that model to life in general. I can only form conclusions based on information within my awareness, so all I can attempt to do is create useful models.

How I think this relates to what you are talking about...

When it comes to trust, I think we can try to gather data/signs of the commonalities of untrustworthy people that we've experienced or observed. (eg. "Those who Gossip to you will gossip about you, is an old saying... Which IME is very accurate. I'm always cautious with people who I find openly talk to me about personal problems ogf people I don't know are having, or 'X said this about you'.)

Also, we can try to gather data/signs of the kind of behaviour that we are most likely to find in a given social environment.

(Eg. I've seen, over and phuckin over, that people who get drunk and high in groups without their partners, are prone to cheating. Intoxicants lower inhibition and change a person's moral compass, I've seen over and over again. I've known both men and women who like to get drunk, grind, kiss, suck, lick or phuck other people under the influence. I've seen it so much, that I would never date someone who really enjoys getting drunk and high, full stop.

Also IME if a person's friends are disloyal and manipulative, then that person is most likely the same. I've witnessed (and had have done the same myself) where people say "I would never do X", then they hang around with people who do X regularly, and then months down the line they are doing X. )

Those ones may be common sense to some people, but hopefully you get my point.)

Basically dude, we can never know with certainty if someone is trustworthy or loyal, we can only form a provisional conclusion based on current information, after assessing the variables, and listening to our emotional intelligence... I think that's all we can do, because we don't have omniscience.

Outside of the analytical side, and into the emotional...

This video IMO talks about it brilliantly. What we human beings struggle to deal with, is the vulnerability of wanting people to be loyal to us, care for us, love us, etc.

The profound vulnerability of being human.

There are classy, respectable women out there OP

Think about the level you are at...

are you a successful professional? Are you achieving goals?? Are you trying to personally develop and improve yourself and situation every day???

If you answered no to any of these then you are not at the level to meet/be exposed to the hard working, traditional women with values out there.

If you are judging every girl based on tinder/bars/clubs etc then you are only seeing the lower classes of women

Got to get to a higher stratosphere brah

Chances are the only people in your life you can truly trust are your parents. You should assume everyone else is looking out for numero uno and will disregard you in pursuit of their best interests

Absolutely to the bolded. You aren't going to make it through life without being heartbroken or F'd over at some point. That doesn't mean you should close yourself off from everyone just because you're afraid of that. I would rather have loved and lost than not loved at all. Of course you should try to be smart about things, and don't be blind to obvious signs of wrong doing, but at some point you're going to have to give someone a chance or you're going to live the rest of your life alone. What kind of life is that? Not a life worth living, IMO.

This too.

Wincel, you're a cheeky bugger and negative as chit most of the time, but I've always liked you as a poster. There are good women out there, women that don't cheat or use people. Get out there and do things you enjoy. You will meet good people and bad people alike. Filter out the bad and stick with the good. It's worth it. It truly truly is.

i treat relationships and friendships like i treat my investments. if they aren't pushing me forward in some way, i get rid of them. its really not complicated when you are a self-sufficient person who literally does not need anyone else to have a great life, even though a significant other can make things more enjoyable.

most of my relationships came when i wasn't looking for one. the first time i was burned, i learned that no matter what, investing emotion in another human is literally a straight road to heartbreak or loss of control. your time and energy should be spent moving forward and that means immediately breaking ties with those who pull you back -- even if it's family.

Tbh, whether folk are more or less trust worthy nowadays is irrelevant, as the price of trust has ALWAYS been that you make yourself vulnerable; that risk is part of the deal and cannot be detached.

It is imposible to try to rationalize human nature, humans are irrational, and every known statistic on human interaction is fraught with anomalies.
