Religious people are always too stubborn when it comes to arguing about what's real and what isn't, if you're born a Muslim you're made to believe in their specific god, same way as being born a christian and so on. Everyone has different gods and their god seems to be the most powerful and legitimate. If their is a god it would be more complex than anyone could ever imagine, not just some dude in the sky with a beard or some elephant with 20 arms, unless i see something with my own eyes or the was REAL evidence then i can't possibly believe it.

I simply say I do not know, but that it's more likely we'll get somewhere with science rather than following a religion that says it already has all the answers.

If you wanna be a deist go for it. I can understand that. It's difficult to imagine everything coming from nothing. A god could be anything. It's religion I can't stand because it's so obviously stupid.

I'd rather follow the evidence and say I don't know than believe something because it sounds nice.

If God is real, then its pure evil or doesn't care. You're average person could think of a world much better than the one god made.

If you truly are left brained you should study abrahamic religions scientific advancements that were claimed to be from God that weren’t scientifically reinforced and “discovered” by later civilizations for over a millennia. Might be a stronger argument for religion to someone who thinks a certain way

Yea this post just shows how little you know about religion. Abrahamic religions have merit and have turned into 1000s of modern denominations but you just don’t put together that they’re essentially worshipping the same God

Edit: jk some of you do say religions are all worshipping the same thing but you usually mean it as a counter argument out of ignorance not a legitimate fact
Hm.

Let's be honest. You aren't really trying to get any insight into why religious people believe what they believe. You're not interested in any answers. Instead it's just another "I'm superior to religious people" thread with the same issues that have been discussed ad nauseam, not only on the MISC but also everywhere else.

Yahweh ?

Or other spirits of divinity ?

Celestial gods ( angels) ?

Infernal gods ( demons/pagan gods) ?

Be more specific

I guess it would be prudent to define God before we even have discussions about him. And that pretty much ends the argument doesn't it? It makes no sense to talk about terms that cannot be defined (unless they are primitive notions upon which we can all agree.) Clearly we do not all agree on the definition of God since people fight wars over it and chit. So maybe it would help if someone could put forth a working definition.

God as humans explain it does not exist, it's simply a coping mechanism used to deal with the unavoidable darkness of death. We wish to survive past it but logically speaking such a conclusion is laughable at best

Circumcision is immoral.
Believing in a religious deity is irrational.
Believing a bigfoot is walking around is also irrational.
