Serbian Film is pretty tame for me.

Scene in a movie that made me kind of get chilled was August Underground the scene where Maggot was having sex with a corpse of a teenage girl in a bathtub.

i don't know man, I grew up watching horror films too. The stuff some of you guys are describing ITT is far beyond "horror" IMO. The real scary part is the nutjob who thought of these scenes for the script.

There are so many, but just a couple that randomly came into my head.

Baskin:
The torture near the end when they are all tied up. Not because of the gore but how realistic it was depicted and acted. On top of that, the concept of what is happening--even though it's been done before--is really chilling if you try to even remotely comprehend.

Landmine Goes Click:
Psychologically the ending was pretty brutal.

Finally someone mentioned it. This film had a lasting effect on me, rather than just gore/shock value in the moment. I watched the extended cut, and thinking about that scene where it goes back in time to the car crash with the warped sounds of kids crying gives me chills to this day. Great movie.

Honorable mention to Requiem For A Dream as well - I think movies which show people in absolutely dire circumstances are the ones that have an effect on me.

Edit: How could I forget - highly recommend Kill List as well for wtf value.

It's extreme horror I guess you can say. Watch some of the new wave of French horror films from a few years back. Good stuff

Already a lot of worthy suggestions ITT

A Serbian Film gets a lot of attention. I watched it many years ago and remember thinking it was more ridiculous than disturbing. At some point I found the ridiculousness kind of laughable. Just a strange, over the top movie.
*Look at reflection in car window and flex every time crew*
*Use half the roll to wipe after a poo crew*
*Fart in the gym and blame rotten smell on faulty ventilation crew*
*Fart at home and blame it on the dog crew*
*Watch neutron-star density poop mock me as water flushes around it and it stays put crew*
*Drive 2 minutes in the summer and back of shirt gets completely wet crew*
*Coffee black as midnight on a moonless night crew*
*Fat shame my cat on a daily basis crew*

How come no one mentioned some of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre movies (the more "authentic" ones)....?? The original plot was based on a true story... Just how phucked up can sociopaths get??? On how big a continuum???

They are just more tame than some of these other ones, srs. I read the plot synopsis for Serbian Film and August Underground...... they are just on a different level of depraved and disturbing. Texas Chainsaw and ones like that are just your standard slasher flicks.
