Guys like you are a big part of the problem. Do you really think that teaching young men that life is hopeless and female biological sexual selection is completely and invariably stacked against them is going to help with suicide? Does learned helplessness help anyone? Do echo chambers perpetually recycling variants of "it's not fair" make life fair?

There are now, more than ever, adult men being coddled by their mothers. Parents these days are a joke.

brb spending my saturday doing my child's science fair project
brb getting the 7th grade math teacher fired because she gave my child a B-
brb tommy texted me he forgot his algebra homework, better leave work, stop home, drop it off at the high school
brb cheating the system to get my child into college and taking out a second mortgage to pay for it
brb creating a resume, cover letter, filling the application, and setting up an interview for my 27 year old kid
brb 35 year old son lives in the basement, doesn't pay any contribution to the household, works two, five hour, days a week at a gas station

Literally, so many people do EVERYTHING for their children. Now we have more adults who've had nearly everything handed to them. No sense of tackling challenges, overcoming obstacles, building skills, mastery. It's anecdotal and I know several women that this applies to, but I've found I know more men my age that are just skating by with no direction in life. The lack of accomplishments among this age group is astonishing.

And to compound it, as others have mentioned, 90% of what we see on social media is everyone's successes. The houses bought, engagements, pregnancy announcements, job promotions, etc. Generally we don't see the failure, the break-ups, the layoffs, the DWIs, etc. So now these adults, who mostly haven't done jack-chit in their life, sit around spending their free time looking at all their friends, family, and acquaintances doing amazing things.

And beyond that, women have always been in a station to be taken care of so I think the impacts of living at home and not having accomplished much isn't as detrimental. In addition, women tend to build more emotionally supportive connections with one another. So even when we feel like chit about ourselves, a break-up, being passed over for a promotion, etc. we talk it out amongst our friend groups who offer support, discuss ad nauseam solutions to issues. This is why in part women move on easier after a break up.

It's not that surprising.

Not all men understand how to man the fuk up and take control of their lives (I.e. all the soyboys itt). Not all people with mental health issues understand they can get help and feel better by working on their issuee, and sadly they either live out their lives miserable or commit suicide. Bullying needs to make a comeback. I assume everything really did change in 2012 because back then you were allowed to bully fukups without being threatened with prison. You'd think a fuking bodybuilding forum wouldn't breed whining victims but I'm proved wrong again.

Well they are taking control of their life, they assess their life make the conclusion that the cons of staying alive massively outake the pros and they can't change the outcome and so decide to end it.

Depression is the real issue. I’ve never had suicidal thoughts but I have been very depressed and gone through grief and emotional trauma etc so I do understand that dark feeling of grief and hopelessness like life can never get better. Like in that Rolling Stones song Painted Black.

But that dark cloud is ultimately just an emotion and it can drift away.
If you really take the time to think, you'll figure out that suicide is not actually a bad option. Assuming it gets better is a comforting lie us human have developed to cope. It doesn't usually get better. Sometimes you just get distracted from the lack of meaning and brutality of this life. Little happy moments can distract you , but once they are gone, you begin to see your life as it truly is. A lot of people can't handle it and use drugs or other escape mechanisms to avoid it. Moreover, if you do happen to feel better for a while you eventually go back to your depressed state. It becomes a viscous cycle. It's almost as if you were condemned to live.
People are just distracted by many thing

Well the hopelessness can also cause the depression or at least you can be in depression, the hopelessness kicks in and it reinforce depression.

Also, what are the odds of winning the lottery or falling in love or whatever you deem to drastically improve your life ? Surely not much for people who have not much to begin with.

I respect your point of view though. All I'm saying is that if those guys choose to stay in the game and their life sucks they are called losers and "blame" to have not take control of their life, if they bravely choose to end it (cause it takes courage to commit suicide) they are "blame" to not take control of their life while in truth they actually did imho and did not take an easy way out cause suicide is not that easy : you need to fight the unconscious survival instinct, you fear a bad outcome that can put you in a worst state than you were before, etc.

Not a good place to be in the first place. But if you are in it and you want to still play the game I believe that when Painted Black starts to play, your best bet is to turn to God (Nature or simplicity for those who don't believe in God) and listen Sigur Rós - Straumnes instead. You will still be a loser but a loser at peace or somewhat at peace

Higher male suicide rate = higher amount of school/church etc shootings

There's a reason 99% of those shooters are young males

How is anyone else taking away your masculinity? You choose whether or not you want to sit around whining like a little bitch or not. Wanna be masculine? No one's stopping you. If you're too fragile to deal with SJWs calling you toxic, then your masculinity was pretty weak to begin with.

Achieving success does not necessarily mean you know how or why it occurred. It can be pot luck owing to factors that haven’t even entered your consciousness.

It’s a bit like speaking and writing your native language. You may be good at it, but you probably have little to no idea of how the language works nor why you’re especially good at it (beyond the obvious that is, i.e. you’ve been practicing it all your life).

But there’s some Czech kent out there who learnt English as a second language and probably knows how English works far better than you do, but can he speak or write it anywhere close to your level? No, he can’t.

men today have lack of direction

they are told to go to school to be X from childhood by parents and teachers. a lot end up single well into their 20's and 30's. working some job does absolutely nothing unless you are working that job for a reason, ie family. you need purpose, a drive, a goal, having kids and a wife depending on you gives you that. some guys choose to go the elon musk route but only a percentage make it, aka have kids *******s.

I don't find that to be radical, reductionist, or insane.
Let’s run with that...

Where does a person’s “response” stem from? Why does it differ from person to person? Can a person respond in any number of ways, or can they only respond in ways that they’ve learnt or been taught?

Spot on. Yup, unfortunately, males are learning to become females, and suppressing their test. For whatever reason, society is raising future men to be more like women, then we wonder why men are becoming so feminized. Well duh!

I go to the gym, and see boys doing girl exercises. Then they wonder why they look like girls. Worse, they spend more time in front of the mirror than under the bar. I would tell them, want to look like a girl, keep doing girly exercises. Want to look like a man, get under the damn bar and put some serious weight up.

At least we succeed better at suicide. We got that going. Survival of the fittest, and the gene pool is better for it.

We got people programmed to "take a pill" for everything. That there's an easy fix, take a pill! It's a shortcut. No hard work involved. So now we got over-medicated people with no work ethic to actually improve themselves. It takes work, facing your problems, over coming fears, getting outside your comfort zone and "safe-space", getting over your short comings, and actually standing up, bust your ass, and do some hard ass work.

Clinical depression is a thing, but don't go into therapy thinking you'll just take a pill, and everything is magically better. Do the hard work to improve your life or rot.
I'm not blessed with riches, but I am rich with blessings.
Thank you, LORD, my God.

Anyway you look at her IG it's riddled with a bunch of selfies and every life event of hers. She lost her grandmother last month and said she was going to get off social media for at least a month.

10 days later she's back to the same behavior. Sort of sad because she is attractive but is probably insecure to some sort of degree. My girl is a bookwork and hardly on social media.
Yeah doesn't surprise me either. Many people seem to try and cover up their sh!t life with sprinkles and snowflakes on social media but have a spine made of glass outside of it. My girl is the same way and I love it. Keeps our relationship grounded and realistic.

we are too isolatedfrom community andwe are too selfish. fix these two things some how and mental health restabilizes.

When you are meaningfully connected to the people around you and you focus on helping others, the volume on your own suffering paradoxically goes down.

We are in an era of isolation, since itappearsthat we can receive all of our entertainment and survival needs alone. This is unprecedented.

We are in an era of selfishness, since the individual's personal pleasure and hedonism is the highest value.

we are hurting ourselves and those around us by living like this
