Had to give my puppers up since I was moving across the country and couldn't have them where I was going. Moved to make a better life for myself and the dogs were the casualty. I rescued both of them from a woman that kept them in a cage 23.5 hours a day, took them to the local prison and had them trained by prisoners learning a trade, and they were great dogs, but still lots of work and very much like toddlers (source: I have a 5 and 7 year old in my house that constantly need the attention). I get the love that they give, but depending on that for happiness is a joke to me.
But if it keeps you guys going each day, keep up the hustle cuz, I just feel you should a happy person without depending on the love of a dog or womenz.

Depends on the dog. It may cause less stress to the owner but increased stress for everyone living around them.

I'm really thankful to have a short coat dog. I do a lot of hiking in messy areas, can't imagine having to deal with the mess of a dog that's half dog half hair. And that's in addition to the shedding indoors.

How do people have dogs when they're at work all day?
Even worse is puppies who take dumps every 30 fukkin minutes. We had a puppy for 3 months before my gf mentally broke down when we came home to our puppy having taken a huge dump on the floor and ripped off the strap from the nintendo wii her dead dad bought her

Yeah what are people with dogs thinking?
I'd much rather have some cat with a bad attitude, jumping all over everything and knocking **** off stuff with their little **** stained paws
The only thing IMO 100% cool about cats is them bringing you dead animals.
I feel like that's their way of putting a little money down on some bills.
I don't think the cable company will take a dead bird as payment but I do appreciate the gesture.

I do think that there are many cases of people having dogs that shouldn't because of their inability to give them enough exercise. A majority of people with dogs actually.

Although I know that having a dog isn't for everyone, putting yourself in the position to be someone who is and making the efforts to be a 10/10 dog owner is a very worthwhile investment. Personally my plan is to fill my home with lots of fur children.

Had to make an account just to share my doggo. So many beautiful dogs in this thread. They're the GOAT!
** dammit ** can't post the pic because I don't have 50 posts! https: //i.imgur.com/3eYda1p.jpg
Can someone please quote my post and embed my doggo's pic? I'd really appreciate it!
Snapped this one traveling the country in a campervan for 9 months... colorado here.
She's a 5-year old whippet mix I believe.
She was the most terrified dog at the shelter... got her when she was 2. She was there the longest of all the dogs, they even brought her price down to $50 from normal $150 because nobody would take her. She wouldn't even let me pet her when I went to go look at her (saw her online first). I wanted a dog that was damaged so I could help it get better, but I felt I might have been in over my head with this one and almost walked out without her because I wasn't sure I could turn her around.
Turned out to be the best decision I ever made. Greatest dog I've ever had, follows me everywhere, best listener, doesn't need a leash, good around other dogs (wasn't the case at first) and kids. Did 0 formal training with her. Just gave her love and she just started to listen to me and follow me around. Took a week of having her at home for her to start coming up to me and sniff me to see wtf was going on. Even then she'd start to back away when I'd try to pet her.
Wouldn't have been possible to give her a complete turnaround if I didn't work from home to give her attention all day. She wasn't the type of dog you could leave home for 8-10 hours a day, though now I can no problem.
/rant I really love my dog

Keeping dogs is a lower class trait like smoking and tattoos.
