Here in the UK, white people who are against Eastern Europeans being in the UK are called 'racist' by White British. To criticize non-white natives of the country is considered 'racist'. If we're being honest, much of the criticism from the left and from Muslims in this country has nothing to do with the treatment of Palestinians. Otherwise they wouldn't endlessly exaggerate it. Further, they'd criticise Hamas vehemently instead of basically supporting them and lapping up their blood libel. They wouldn't basically narrate Protocols of the Elders of Zion (but switching "Jew" for "Zionist"...sometimes mid-sentence in the case of the former president of the National Union for Students lol). They'd have something to say for the other countries who mistreat Palestinians. They'd have something to say to Egypt for co-enforcing the Gaza Blockade by building a massive steel wall there. They have nothing.

These people usually refer to themselves as "anti-Zionist". That is to say, they're against the existence of Israel in the first place regardless of Israeli's actions. How does the saying go? "Sometimes you just have to let people tell you who they are".

I will say, however, that the other chap makes a good point. Some leftists hate on Israel due to their Marxist paradigm of oppressor and oppressed. Israel has been styling on the Arabs since '49 (nearly exclusively as a reaction to Arab aggression, by the way) so some Marxists think that Israel must therefore be inherently wrong and evil.

So, to conclude, Muslims in the UK tend to hate Israel because it's a Jewish state and nothing Israel does or doesn't do will change this because they're against it's existence in the first place (again, they're pretty open about this). Leftists hate Israel because Israel because it's successful.

I don't know why I put so much effort into a side-debate lol. Should probably make a comment regarding the OP so I'm not entirely off-topic...
