Idk why more of you don't stream with Tidal. Uncompressed library... it's great. I don't need to torrent anything anymore. It's not on par with an actual CD or vinyl, but its almost there.

I don't think the album is underwhelming, but I think I'm used to the vocal of MJK off of Undertow and Aenima. The riffs remind me a lot of what Lateralus had on it.

Are we not gonna talk about how Mockingbeat was completely unnecessary on the album? Would’ve been fine finishing with 7empest

New album is GREAT!

Man, these 13 years was a long wait, especially since I felt 10,000 Days was a bit weak. I was concerned cause the new APC was mostly garbage.

However...TOOL delivered! I'll gladly listen to Fear Inoculum until the next album drops in 2032.

Album is okay so far. Maybe itll grow on me. Right now it feels like the Slipknot album has more soul so listening to that for now.

I'm not crazy about any of the interlude tracks on the album but that one did seem really misplaced. Overall though, I really liked it. Much better second time through at work when I could listen to it with good headphones.

Descending
Invincible

My only gripe about the album is the auto-tune part on Invincible. That part about Ponce De Leon was my favorite part of the song in the live versions, but on the album the voice effect ruins it.

Descending is an epic track IMO.

"One drive to stay alive
It's elementary. Muster every fiber
Mobilize
Stay alive"

goosebumps bro

pneuma, invincible, 7empest are great as well. Definitely recommend listening with something a bit more advanced than poverty earbuds.

After listening to it for a third time I really like it. It's different, but 100% Tool.

Look at the progression of the band. Every single album became just a little less angry than the last. This album is pretty experimental with long drum/guitar solos. They started as young and angry, kept true to their tune but chilled out quite a bit.

They manage to progress yet still have their signature sound. Quite amazing considering so many bands try and fail miserably.

Better than 10k for sure. The singing is toned down compared to Lateralus and Aenima, but the solos and other production notes add another dimension to the music

Very well done. Percussion is insane. I feel that the members really put their souls into this album. Once again it's like they made music that they wanted to hear and want to play and fuk what anyone else thinks, as usual.

I was hoping for something a bit more heavy, and Maynard's vocals are seemingly not what they used to be, but this is a gem.
As stated above - it's beautiful.

10k Days would have been a great album by any other band, but a mediocre one by Tool standards. MJK was still dealing with the loss of his Mom, so I think that really affected the direction the band was able to go.

Chocolate Chip Trip is a pretty wacky track in a very good way. Not by any means the best track, but I figure I'd point it out. Definitely one of the trippier songs I've heard.

So far, my favorites are Pnuema and Invincible, with 7empest close behind. As usual with most TOOL albums, I expect my favorites to constantly change.

Love the album, but not their best. Not a bad thing.

Seems to be a little less on the vocals. Danny Carey goes HAM in this one. My favorite album strictly based on percussion.
