Wanted a mini break with the wife to Amsterdam - 3 days tops.

Not been anywhere for years together without the kids, barely a night out since my mother is a moaning piece of $hit and whines when asked to babysit my two boys just for one f@cking evening.

Nevertheless, she agreed to it in principle, and so we booked the flights.

Next thing I know is she says "3 days is too long".

Bear in mind my kids are big time into gaming and would cause no fuss at my parents house, because they have superfast broadband. My parent's would practically not notice they were there. All they need to do is feed them (school holidays).

My parents are oldcels, early 70's, plenty of space in their Victorian home and it's not like my kids need night feeds or nappy changes.

I don't get it - most grandparents would be happy to have their grandkids for a few days? God knows they left me with their mother almost every weekend whilst they went out.

Faced with the choice of cancelling the flight and getting an earlier one home (would cost £30), I have decided that the kids can come along with us and my parents can go smoke a bowl of baby dicks.

Probably gonna add £1k to the cost too.

Next time they want me to go around and move something heavy from the attic - I will be telling them to go suck a fat cock.

Let me tell you OP this is why being Indian is actually a great thing. Indian parents are one of the best parents you can have. sometimes they can be really strict, but they will take care of you no matter what, and they will buy you what ever it is that you need. as long as your not a selfish ****head.

Uhhhhh yeah, but Indians live in multi-generational housing situations - and sure mommy will take care of her adult son, but that's not a good thing in the long run. I was born in the good old US of A but my parents are off the boat. They watch my kid anytime anywhere, moving their own plans for me and my wife. Took care of me through college, and after. Heck, when i was a young professional still at home, would wake up to full breakfast sitting on the table hot and ready.

Meanwhile, i have friends who are multiple generations in this country and for all intents and purposes are white with no ethnic background. and literally turned 18 and their parents are like pay rent or GTFO...

not saying these people don't love their kids, but its a diff kind of love i guess.
