Oh come on. It's just a fact that it does. Everyone knows it. It's not just an incel thing. It is harder to make friends and set down roots as you get older. My only IRL friend (who I see only once every few years, but talk to often online) has been my friend for ~17 years now. We met in high school and played videogames together this whole time. I met people in college, but all those friendships were mainly for the semester. After that, you lose contact. Didn't really hang out except to get food once in a while after class. It gets hard to make lasting friendships when you grow older. Everyone experiences this, not just incels.

Honestly, it is also work to maintain a friendship lol. My friend and me can go a week or so without talking to each other, randomly show up and talk for like 2 hrs. It's just the way life is. When you grow older, and everyone has a schedule and chit, it is hard to make time to maintain many friendships.

Wincel will never change. I hate the kid and everything he represents. There are a chit ton of dudes in their teens to mid 40's who are just like him and I think it will have lasting damaging effects to society.

But...

He's legitimately very popular here and he's very polarizing. You have my camp which knows hes a little bitch pretending to be smarter than he really is on the internet for greenies. And then the other camp that either thinks "he'll make it" one day or is generally interested that someone like him exists.

I'm 35. I have no high level skill in a single activity (severe inattentive ADHD).

It used to bother me a lot. Now although I do want to pursue mastery in some things, I focus on enjoying the challenge and experience, rather than just the achievement of mastery. (If only I had enough money to get a computer where I could do video editing... I used to spend hours doing that, with glee.)

EDIT: LOL red, yea I saw the TUlsi podcast. It was great. I like that she can have a dialogue with both sides, and even be respectful and civil with people with different views. Sadly, she won't win. She is doing ok in NH, but everywhere else, it's terrible. I think she will end up dropping out. But I hope her message is heard and people apply it and rethink our foreign policy.

Saying that there's no such thing as incels is retarded but there is pretty much no such things as poor incels. If you're not stupid, you shouldn't be poor by your 30s, so there shouldn't be too many stupid incels. Wincel isn't stupid so I don't get what his problem is.

Imagine a 17yo Bryce Harper slamming 500 foot home runs while you struggle to power it past 300, and you kind of get the gist of it.

It's not just a kid working hard and focused on something - it's when you get to see a prodigy who has more talent in his big toe than you ever will. You might you're hot chit and near the top of the mountain in your field, then a guy like that comes along and shows you how high the mountain really is. It's a very humbling experience.

ayee i didn't struggle. but harper... is a good point. his dad was clearly invested in his son. harper was like 220-250 lbs at 16.. i wouldn't be surprised at all if he juiced

but within this point is something that i was focusing on. you dont know how much time the "17 year old" invested into that particular subject. he could have had ****gy azz strict parents that made him do math 12 hours a day

so to suggest that he inherently has an advantage without knowing his background is foolhardy imo

oh and harper forewent his last 2 years of high school education to play juco baseball so he could enter the draft early..which his parents were also prob involved with

Nope. Kid was just brilliant. Dude played games all day and spent like 2 hrs a day studying and knew more than everyone. I know another kid from MIT who spent most of his time hacking videogames, playing league of legends, and screwing around with WoW auction house. Dude got a PhD in economics lol. Some people are just ridiculously smart. They allocate way less time and effort than everyone else and achieve awesome things.

my first gf was a national merit scholar and got into yale. we went to a college prep school where normal classes were weighted heavily in gpa. she had like a 4.6 GPA, her father was a doctor and her mother was a librarian

our spanish exam was 2000 questions long. she didnt even take the book to study ( i did) and she aced it

HOWEVER, deep down i know she hated being a "nerd" and was forced to by her parents

Some ppl aren't forced tho. They are just gifted. It's kind of a mix. The amount of variation in people is incredible. Something that seems impossible to people like you and me can be obvious and easy to others.

and also, i was drawing into the "interest" aspect to it. for instance, you said the kid was good at math, but i bet he would suck at baseball if he stepped onto a baseball field. i guess what im saying is.. the "things" you like and take an "interest" in will help facilitate your skill

whereby a lack of ability in a certain skill may not equal an inability to acquire but a disinterest in acquiring it

I was a National Merit scholar and I'm still incompetent at grad school, lol. Tells you how high of a level those guys are really playing at.

In the case of like the guys in my program, it's a combo of work + smarts. They had to be about top 1 in 500 on their national college entrance exams to get into the elite schools in their home country, so they're at least top 0.1% in raw talent (most of the population in 3rd world nations doesn't even sit for these exams). But then they take the equivalent of 25 hours a semester of engineering for four years at those elite schools; Americuck advisors won't even let domestic students sign up for more than 18 because it's too much.

And the study habits they build through that are insane. I've seen those guys pull 30 hour all nighters efficiently and retain everything a week lately; they got that just through practice. When you have like a 150 IQ dude who can study for 18 hours a day and retain it all, he's going to rape you on the next midterm.

But the case of a 17yo who can smoke a math PhD, no one can grind hard enough to achieve that just through study habits and work. Kid probably works hard at it, sure, but he would need to have a 1 in a million prodigal talent at math to begin with.

It's become fashionable these days to pretend everything is environment and nothing is due to genetics, that with hard work and dedication, you, too, can reach the level of professional superstars in whatever field it is you are looking at. The simple and sad truth is this is obviously false. Hard work and dedication can improve you to a level where you are really good, but you will never be as good as a natural talent who also put in hard work.

Sometimes lack of ability in a skill isn't just disinterest. It's that you suck at it and then stop liking it and become disinterested...

Anybody who has a natural talent at something deep down knows this. Nobody wants to admit publicly that they didn't really work that hard and that they are just good at something.

When I was a senior in high school the whole physics class I was a part of went a competition at a state university. The people I rode with were studying the whole way up there and freaking out about it and I was texting girls. They all had better grades in the class than I did, I had a D at the time, because I loathed homework and would rather take a 0 then spend time practicing chit I already knew how to do.

Anyway I finished top 10 at the competition better than anybody in my class. My mom still has the leather bound certificate award at her house. I didn't work for that all I just could do it. Hard work is still really important cause one of those kids who took it with me that I made better than now has a PhD in Physics from Vanderbilt

If most people are honest its the same with getting women. I never had to work for that either. All the self improvement stuff I do is for me and me alone. Women find me agreeable to be around for whatever reason. Is it looks, charisma, I don't really know
