Or they can get rid of stupid machines like leg extension, goodgirl/badgirl, and only have free weights. Take what's left, spread it around, and profit.

Less non-lifters = better social distancing.

what if governers dont want to reopen gyms, and what if gym owners decide to wait it out even longer?

lol, I dont think it isn't gonna open right away all of sudden. Protocols will still need to be initiated to prevent the spread since it's still on going

Lol, would be hilarious and terrible if, for the sake of social distancing, they remove the squat racks.

I can see some gyms doing that in favor of the meme machines.

Governors will be the ones to make the call to open gyms and anything else for that matter whenever they want. Hopefully you live in a state with an intelligent governor as opposed to my potato lib cuck state.

Im sure 90% of gym owners will open up as soon as they get the ok. Big chain commercial gyms may hold out longer though

my building has a gym and it was open even after cuomo closed all public gyms. they only closed it once he came out and clarified that private gyms have to be closed too.
for a few days, they were limiting it to 8 people at a time and you had to wipe everything down before and after or you're banned. they also had building staff sanitizing it 4x a day. im assuming they'll open as soon as possible with all that in place.
i usually go in after 1130pm. rarely theres someone doing cardio, but its usually just me. i'll be there as soon as they open.

glad there's some light at the end of this tunnel. we've been more or less locked down for a month and we have another month to go. people are starting to lose it.

I think it depends on the gym itself.

The larger / more spacious gyms would obviously find it more convenient to implement the social distancing rules due to more "open areas". They could even take this a step further by temporarily removing equipment & limiting new membership sign ups, cancelling group classes and limiting PT.

As for hygiene they should add more sanitation / cleaning stations & hire more cleaners.

My gym manager is aiming for a June / July re-opening date.

I personally wouldn't risk heading back to my gym for the first few weeks or so, got an olympic barbell / parallettes / stationary bike / outdoor cycle for cardio to keep me covered for the next 2-3 months.

Like I said in the Coronvirus thread, there should be a scheduling(reservation ahead and a few walk ins) for a certain number of people per hour or hour and a half. And maybe even sanitize the area in between schedules. A bitch but it can work.

You will be asked to leave after your batch. You arrive late, either wait for next schedule or shorten your workout.

Just tho it not happening in the UK

Pains me to say it as an Englishman that we never get anything right and America always gets everything right, as in the mis-conception England won WW2 but in essence we must thank our American Bros for helping to really win it

It's the 'distancing guidelines' which I'm bertstarring about. My gym was rammed whenever I went in the afternoons. People working out shoulder to shoulder almost. It was a cramped gym. It would be a challenge to moderate the influx of people...

I was thinking the same thing. I would wake up and go at 5AM though if that's the only option.
