You can beat the yellow if you're the one turning, just gotta yield. Some drivers stop at yellow, some drive straight through, as long as you yield you don't have to worry about an accident. Even if the light turns red, you still got 2-3 seconds to clear the intersection.

Now driving through is risky. Best to stop at the yellow everytime

i mean, i've never seen that type where it was just 3 lights. i've only ever seen them as 4 where there's a green light, a green arrow, yellow and red but i'm not canadian so i don't know if it's a thing up there

I almost got my chit rekt similar to this about a month ago. I was turning left on a non-protected green when the light went yellow. Almost went, but I waited.

A lowlife tradie truck in oncoming traffic went full throttle from a block away and blew the red light by at least 2-3 seconds at 60mph.
