Did you even skate? Have you seen a real skate video?

I mean...okay I guess. I'm sure that burns his eye when he does that.

But that isnt cinematically impressive. It's not doing a handstand on a skyscraper like we've seen and gotten used to.

I get it, it burns. But we've seen normal people with unknown pain thresholds get maced, A LOT, in the past few years.

It probably burns to do that, but I've seen a man hang from a building and fall to his death.

I'm not saying they should risk their lives. I'm just saying, I dunno, they're sort of like jingling their keys in my face and wondering why I'm not entertained.

What made them seminal was the transition towards vlogging, comedy, and stunts. Clearly they were moving out of skate videos and starting their own thing. I won't argue they aren't the best skate videos, but they're definitely important culturally and defined a new sub-genre of entertainment. They could've used more skating in the tapes, really. So calling them skate videos might be a stretch, but that is where their roots originated, and that is the format they revolutionized to start new genres of entertainment predating internet vids. South Park was also a pre-YouTube viral hit shared on physical tapes.

As a kid I was heavy into skating, snowboarding, BMX, ATVs, dirtbikes, and all that sh!t. Went a different path of hobbies as I got older, but always have fond memories of those years in my childhood when all me and friends would do is ride around town and hit skateparks, or go to the mountain, or spend entire weekends on trails.

I mean yeah that tattoo is fkd up. But the guy was on a cocktail of hardcore drugs that would kill the average person at the time, and his whole career was based on doing shocking things. At the end of the day he covered it up, and as far as I know he's never done any actual **** stuff. And everyone I've met who's met Steve-o has said he's a cool nice guy. So I mean who gives af what he did when he was young on chit loads of drugs?
