Its interesting because the same arguments against open source software are the same arguments against the scientific peer review process.
Resources often guide the integrity of the process.

Effectively understanding where the research paper "came from" (meaning who vetted it) is extremely important.
Anything coming out of Portland State is effectively understood as false unless it can be proven by several other colleges.

There is a big difference as a skeptic who doesn't see the need for a vaccine or doesn't view it as completely safe from a risk/reward perspective and the loony tunes that think they are putting viral vectors or microchips in them.
I have zero plans to get the vaccine for example, I don't feel I need it and I don't trust the lack of long term data.
I don't think you read the whole article and if you did it went over your head.

Well yeah of course it's a rational thought to have questions about a completely unproven and rushed vaccine. The concerns about specialized and long term effects are definitely valid. Basically since they're using the rollout as the clinical trials, the longer the vaccinated population sees the impact, the lesser or more focused those concerns should become.
Demeaning anyone for not getting the vaccine is completely idiotic.

Pretty sure the state of South Dakota caught it, or at the very least hit herd immunity.

Krissy considers herself someone who is “very pro-vaxx.” With her 3-year-old daughter, she followed the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s childhood vaccination schedule, and she was “excited” to get vaccinated against COVID-19 as soon as she was eligible.
Krissy, 37, who lives in the Atlanta-area and asked for her last name to be withheld for privacy, said she had no side effects after her first Moderna dose. But two days after her second dose she got her period — and after that period ended, she got another eight days later. This cycle continued for a few weeks, at which point she went to her gynecologist for advice. After a course of oral progesterone failed to restart her regular menstrual cycle, she went back to her doctor, who told her that it seemed like she had stopped ovulating.
She hadn’t planned on having any more children, but now is worried that the choice may have been made for her. Krissy is concerned that the vaccine is to blame, and what this might mean for her daughter’s fertility should she get vaccinated when she becomes eligible in the coming months.

There was a recent hit piece targeting the vaccine hesitant in the NYT. Talked about AR and their low rate of vaccination. Said only 40% of healthcare workers in the state had been vaccinated. Spoke with a female nurse who refused the vax- her reasoning was she didn't want to risk losing her fertility.
Who has a front row seat to hear accounts from a large number of people that have had the vaccine?
Health care workers.

And reportedly [unsubstantiated] the work being done at Wuhan re:gain of function was being done to develop a vaccine against HIV.
I had read a long detailed interview, but now I can't seem to locate it in my history.
ETA: Found an old news item.
London: French Nobel prize winning scientist Luc Montagnier has sparked a fresh controversy by claiming that the SARS-CoV-2 virus came from a lab, and is the result of an attempt to manufacture a vaccine against the AIDS virus.
In an interview given to French CNews channel and during a podcast by Pourquoi Docteur, professor Montagnier who co-discovered HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) claimed the presence of elements of HIV in the genome of the coronavirus and even elements of the "germ of malaria" are highly suspect, according to a report in Asia Times.
The Wuhan city laboratory has specialized in these coronaviruses since the early 2000s. They have expertise in this area,' he told a French news channel

I don't think the vaccines are poison/deadly, just that they are untested and we don't know. Some people might want to get vaccinated, many others don't need it.
It's a simple risk assessment, really. We know how dangerous a threat covid is. For anyone where that threat is basically non-existent, which is more than a few, there just isn't a compelling reason to take an improperly tested vaccine knowing that vaccines require testing and animal studies and often work out poorly. That's why we test them for fuks sake.
All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.

120K people is still a lot of people.
VAERs reporting for these vaccines is showing a much higher incidence of severe adverse effects and deaths for these vaccines than for traditional vaccines. I've heard allegations that the process of collecting and interpreting the data coming in is FUBAR compared to what would be done in a normal trial with sufficient oversight. Also that there is no Human Ethics Committee for these vaccines and that the normal risk mitigation measures are not being followed.
A man who should know a little something about it, Dr. Robert Malone, one of the original inventors of mrna gene therapy for vaccination, has stated that the possibility that the spike protein which was meant to stay trapped inside cell membranes in a localized area is in fact circulating through the body. He is pro-mrna vaccines and said that he thought this specific vaccine may be flawed because they began dispensing it based on bench data vs. extensive trials in animals and then in humans.
I think the adverse events was up to 400K now?

OTOH there appears to be a significant amount of anecdotal accounts. FB had a post-vaccine group with 120K members that was increasing by 10K members a week before the social media company deleted it.
Maybe many of the issues people were posting about were coincidental. Maybe some were fake, or just hypochondriacs. Maybe some were politically motivated.
120K people is still a lot of people.

Also on Friday, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Vaccine Adverse Events Reporting System (VAERS) says there are 438,440 vaccine injury reports through July 7, 2021, as well as the Myocarditis Reports for ages under 20.Of these reports, there have been 9,048 deaths, 26,818 hospitalizations, 56,970 urgent care visits, 3,324 heart attacks, 985 miscarriages, 19,105 allergic reactions, as well as many other adverse health events:

However, as of today, the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) contains reports of 9,048 deaths, 7,463 persons disabled, and 26,818 hospitalizations.
The more user-friendlyBritish Yellow Card System contains reports of 40 cases of GBS with two deaths, and 43,738 “nervous system disorders” with 43 deaths for the Pfizer product. For Moderna, there was only one nonfatal case of GBS listed and 3,331 “nervous system disorders” with two deaths.
Some would like to punish those who decide that for them, the risk of the jab exceeds the benefit. Dr. Leana Wen of CNN, former head of Planned Parenthood, wants to make the choice of being unvaccinated hard and unduly burdensome. This is presumably to protect the public from catching the virus from an unvaccinated person. However, Moderna and Pfizer vaccine trials “have explicitly acknowledged that their gene therapy technology has no impact on viral infection or transmission whatsoever and merely conveys to the recipient the capacity to produce an S1 spike protein.”
Nearly 7,500 reported disabled post vaccination. Don't believe I've seen that called out much.

Some of those numbers seem a bit off from what the CDC reports as well.
You can see the risk there.
