So many complaints about the Bible in here by people who clearly have a deep misunderstanding of Biblical hermeneutics that I can't even begin to unpack it all.

If your thinking is that Christianity is only true if you can find a sinless Christian or that you should never find one overstepping, messing up, and misrepresenting Christ you're going to have a bad time.

That said, most of the accusations of Christians cherry-picking the Bible are made by people ironically cherry picking the Bible but too ignorant of the Bible to know that they are, i.e. - Leviticus is not the "gotch-ya" you want it to be.
Its just that so many are so quick to use religion for the sole reason of feeling morally superior to others.

Why else would there be such turmoil between my own mother and her brother?? Yes, he is tone deaf for bringing his partner to the funeral...but...

Its not the fact he is bringing him that is offensive to her, lets call it for what it is...its the fact that religion has taught her to hate gay people...Why else would my uncle be so scared to come out that he let his own father go to the grave without knowing?

Jesus hung out with the tax collectors, prostitutes and lepers...

When has the average christian (ok, 99% of christians) ever taken the time to sit with a beggar? Hang out with a drug addicted homeless person?

No, they would rather make a big deal over something when they should handle it a different way. If anyone asks me what I think of gay people, I will tell them straight: I find it disgusting, but only because I am not attracted to men and vomit at the thought of kissing a dude or sticking my dick in a hairy butthole. I will then treat that gay person no different than anyone else, the same as I will with my uncles partner. Wanna go out to dinner after? Sure! See you at the cottage this summer? Alright! Will I dry heave when I see you two kiss, sure thing! lol.

Instead of shunning my uncle, why cant they realize that the best way to reach him is to stop being so damn judgmental, and let him see Christ through their actions, and how they live.

Instead they choose to spread pain and shame because they are indoctrinated to believe they are morally superior because a book written 2000 years ago told them to.


I grew up in the church, and THATS what pisses me off about Christians.

From a very young age (sunday school, and every church program on up till I was 20 or so), one resounding theme has always been: no matter the transgression..no matter the sin, the blood of Christ has the power to save all.


I believe there are very few pentecostal or other preachers or those who study the Word that will disagree.


But I digress....I think its all an insane sham regardless.

They were wrong. There are literally like 10 false prophets to every 1 true preacher of the word. Believe what you want. He'll come out as a predator eventually. Hopefully then you'll believe, and be saved.
