No, I'm srs. lol. My father works in project management and makes like 60k a year, and he's considered in a respectable job. You guys just dont understand UK salaries

People can make more money working freelance and chit but I'm talking the actual average, it being like 45-50k.

And yes he did make 30k, this was like an entry level position and years ago but i'm srs

Not that I think anyone here looks bad for their age, but men aren’t even valued for looking youthful. Men are valued for the experience and confidence etc that should accompany signs of aging, and trying to fight that as a man would be called not aging gracefully

The thread I made the other day, a lot of brahs were saying they don't have passions.

I know what I'm passionate about, but it's just not easy to attain.

Everything else outside of doing what you're truly passionate about is never gonna make you (truly) happy, you can be satisfied/content, but you don't really wake up with the same fire. That's the issue. But I've learnt to be more grateful for what I have as I've grown older and tried to stop focusing on what I don't have, still working on it. TY tho.

I'm not some gimmick account that has to remain in character, I'm self aware and honest enough to admit my flaws and vent, I don't really see anything wrong wit that.

reading comprehension not even once.

I said I'm applying for the apprenticeship which isn't much but in the long term will lead to the opportunity to make more. And that's £ no $, which is still above the UK average salary and the fact that they pay for my degree is a plus which leaves me debt free

This. Proof is Ed. There’s not a world that this guy pulls above average sloots on looks alone. Men in general are pretty bad at judging other men but this isn’t one of those cases. Him being ginger doesn’t help him but it’s certainly not the reason, just look at his face. There’s plenty of miscers that look better than that guy at the same or older age.

Seventy thousand dollars is what you need for the start of the top 5%. According to statistics, if the upper middle class, as the 5th percentile of disposable income distribution, has a median income of £50,000 after taxes, or £100,000 gross a year, it comes out to roughly 70,000 pounds after tax. An example would be $135,000 or more.

hes right. Amerilards and beavercels cant grasp the fact that life/salaries in Europe are completely different. 50k is poverty in America but above average in EU.

I was confused when seeing miscer classifying 60/70k as poverty tier, but having been there (US) I can see why they think that and are not e-statting. Its just different

It’s around 60-65k, somewhere around there. He doesn’t work a lot, like he gets an insane amount of free time and he’s due for retirement soon. He used to work in IT before that, and not sure who he works for, I’m not that close to my old man, closer to my mother tbh

I doubt a sky tradie would make 84k here in a full time employed position

Probably for a smaller firm then so that would be realistic. 90-95k is about the going rate currently. The free time aspect is a perk of the job, the 4-6 hour meetings regularly however? Not so much.

This is only for junior roles though, i.e first 3-4 years of your career. We have one software engineer at my company earning in the 40's, and he's a trainee who came through on the apprenticeship scheme, even when he joined as an apprentice he started on 29k (at 18 y/o) and has moved to low 40's over about 4 years. He'll jump to 60's once his apprenticeship is done, then if he makes senior he'll get another jump in maybe 5 years.

Go and look upsenioror lead developer salaries, but don't use a salary comparison site or whatever.. go and do a job search and see what jobs are actually offering. 70k is the low end for a senior/lead and the high end goes all the way up to 200k. Normal for an experienced senior/lead is around 85-140k, but lots of investment banks and hedge funds will push all the way to 200k. The market has gone insane for developers and other professional roles, especially in the last 3 years due to remote working (so for remote roles 'london salary' is a thing of the past, and it's forced companies to have to pay to compete with London salaries universally). I know the market fairly well because i had to leverage a promotion recently by using a job offer and holding a gun to my companies head.
Here:https://uk.indeed.com/jobs?q=senior%...7a3e6a1876232b
Scroll down and you'll see 80-100k is completely normal and roles paying 30-50k tend to be junior roles. Cyber security isn't a bad field to get into either, just make sure if you do go down that route you ultimately know your value and don't wageslave for 30k a year (honestly not sure how people can live on 30k a year in 2022 unless they house share or something)

65k is an alright salary for a project manager, but not for one in a senior role (i,e senior PM/senior product owner/head of product).

Anyway, GL with the interview, but perhaps less time on the misc, securing a career/future is more important than chitposting brah lol. We cant all have our career as our passion but its not all or nothing, there is a middle ground where u can do work u enjoy and pays well even if its not ur passion, thats life.
