This thing in Texas, though, I've got from souring to outright distrust, dislike and scorn.

Seeing those cowards, more than ever it reinforces how we all need to be armed and be trained to properly use them. These cops are not there for us, they are there for their bosses and the establishment.
How are police allowed to get so fat srs? All cops should be capable running a sub 8 min mile minimum and 15% or less bodyfat.

It's terrific, right? So you know, I am in heaven."

some interesting responses here, im assuming most of you guys lean conservative but we have everything from fuk the popo to bootlicking

i kinda agree, since the lockdowns, my opinion has changed from supportive to mostly neutral. even in canada here many of the cops are undertrained and pathetic.

i guess the moral of the story is never rely on cops to do chit for you. If they do then that's a bonus, every man for themselves, not that it should have ever been different.

Racist garbage gonna racist garbage. I’m sure you think only white people are American. What about that pussy white cop that punked out during the parkland shooting? Or are you going to disqualify him based on some other master race qualification he’s missing?

Absolutely no idea what you're talking about.

The police department in that town is accredited and funded by the state of Texas. That town is 20minutes from the mexico border, but that doesn't mean they're "illegals." Mexico use to encompass all of Texas. After the Mexican-American war the people living there didn't just leave, many of them stayed. That makes most of them more American than you and I put together.

Called a non emergency number to help out and the cop was such a genuine piece of chit a friends dad wanted his badge number as he worked for the city.

He screamed my buddy is wasting his time, said he can't help him, then wrote him a ticket for having tints (my buddy had had a permit for the tints and it was overturned).

Chit was pathetic.

The back the blue thing is cringey . Too much grown adult badge chasers. It's weird
LMAO. You don't call the cops because you locked your truck with the keys inside. You call a locksmith or AAA. I've called both for the issue.
Virtue is its own reward.

Aside from ONE city in Oregon and ONE city in Washington state (and only temporarily I might add) when was there sweeping legislation to defund police in this country?

There's a documentary on Columbine that I watched a few months ago and the cops even botched that situation. I gave them be benefit of the doubt because it was the first major mass shooting in the country, but now i'm having second thoughts because the way they behaved during columbine is almost verbatim how the cops responded in Texas.

This is the elephant in this thread that noone's talking about. The misc can yell and gnash teeth all they want when the discussion of gun regulation comes up, but that was the limiting factor that forced the cops to stand down. They were out-gunned.

I don't care if people support me or not. I deal with the dumbest people of society on a daily basis and clean up societies messes for 8 hours a day. I'm literally a janitor, a babysitter for adults and "customer service" for all of life's issues.

The public demands, on a daily basis, that I do things that violate the rights of others because it would help them achieve something..those same people then call for me to be arrested if I violate their rights. I've been called to houses where a neighbor is upset that another neighbors trash blew into their lawn and they DEMAND I arrest the neighbor. I don't, so the caller ends up calling and filing a complaint because I didn't help them. I have responded to calls at the beach where someone is upset another person is taking pictures, so they DEMAND that I arrest that person for disorderly conduct for upsetting them. I don't, so they complain.

I respond to an accident where a guy is hammered drunk and crashed into 3 cars. I arrest him for DUI and he starts screaming I'm arresting him because he's black. The black neighbors hear this and come outside and all start screaming "youuuu only be arresting him cuz he black!" As the stumbling handcuffed black man is pissing himself as I put him in the backseat of my car as he calls me a racist.

Do I give a **** about any of that? Not at all.

I get paid 6 figures a year, get a ton of time off, a golden retirement plan and benefits. And the anti police narrative the left is forcing onto everyone has honestly only made my job easier. People don't expect anything out of us anymore. As long as they keep paying me, I'll keep showing up.

Edit: if there was ever a school shooting at an elementary school, I believe I'd go in. Based on my experience with society, kids are the only thing really worth saving or dying for. Adults? I mean the majority suck, so no.
This is fine and all, but its hard to ignore years and years of incidents that can affect us all. Hell, I'd say you're at a bigger risk of harm than all of us for calling out police corruption because you could get "Serpico'ed" for being a whistleblower.

-Its hard to ignore the cops killing pomeranians becuase they feared for their saftey

-The deadly game of "Simon Says" Daniel Shaver had to play in that hotel hallway

-all the cases of drug planting during traffic stops

Oh, and one last thing to think about...more Americans under the age of 17 have died from being shot in 2022 than cops. Its literally safer to be a cop than it is to be a kid in the US.

I have a hard time getting angry when a few cops make mistakes after 2 years of the country deifying doctors who kill hundreds of thousands of people every year.

Unfortunate situation but every profession has incompetent people.
