Some of my black friends families mentioned it, others kind of celebrated. It’s been a thing since 1866, but it’s just more mainstream now.

I already pointed out that most of you were middle to upper class white people who hung out with others that are the same so of course you wouldn’t know about it. Not sure how celebrating a peoples release from literal slavery could make someone upset, but here we are.

There is a cost in dollars incurred by the U.S. economy by adding a federal holiday.

Joe Biden traded that cost SPECIFICALLY for no other reason than for votes, at the expense of the American tax payers.

If Joe Biden had instead declared it a holiday because he believed it was just, and the attached cost was merely a consequence, then it would not be the same issue.

The holiday is not the issue...the blatant abuse of power and use of taxpayer money is, tho.
