I am a (almost 50 years old) Italian guy. I am pretty much always 2-3 days away from looking like a homeless dude.
I have full chest hair and quite a bit of back hair which I trim often. In that pic is about as grown in as I let my body hair get. But yes across my arms and chest makes my skin look uneven in texture. Its called hair people. Plus I snapped the orig pic about 20 feet away from a mirror in my gym. Hence lower quality.I have quite good skin. Except for my gray and now thinning hair most assume I am at least 10 years younger. My gray does not bother me. Thinning hair...well I have an older brother who I was able to see the path I was going to take before I got there. Both grandfathers were cue ball bald. I hold a decent amount of hair, but accept my thinning. I am not vain in that manner. And I am OK with growing old(er).
I trimmed before I took shower and then snapped this pic. Mind you I just dragged a mangroomer back and forth across my skin and was in a hot shower, but no 'old' skin issues here. And not that anyone wants to see the ugly mug, but I am not too far over the hill yet.

I dont feel I have aged all that badly.
Pic of me at 17 (that is my wife by the way at my prom)
Pic of me at 34
Pic of me at 42 with my wife.
and pic of me at 49 I just snapped. Not very flattering lighting , but IDGAF. No filters. Yep.... the last 10 years my age has started to show. But I am totally cool and comfortable with it. I have a wonderful wife who loves me the way I am, and life is good. I am starting to look like all the old Italian guys in my family. Part of me likes it. I am happy to let my wife be the one people look at. My 'pretty boy' days are long gone.

I’m skeptical if I’m supposed to believe these results come from lifting only at 4 days a week. Seems like you’re hiding something

Here's it's right on this site and I haven't checked in years! No cholesterol meds.
The weird thing is I have significant heart disease on both sides of my family. My dad and uncle have heart issues. Multiple heart attacks, meds since 30's. I remember when I was young my dad had to try to eat a special diet..etc. My grantfather had multiple heart attacks, bypass and died from heat issues. On other side of fam, all on med.
My lipids have always been good. What sucks is I did not start regular physicals until my mid 30's so I dont know what it was like when I was not taking care of myself and was overweight.
What is CRAZY is my lipids and profile have only gotten better since fasting was introduced 4 years ago. And then this past year I do 3 20-22hr fasts. Over that time, I started to eat foods I never would have allowed myself. My wife has a sweet tooth and so do the kids. I started eating regularly processed foods like cookies, chips, snack foods. I do time them post workout mostly, but I was thinking this past year my doc was going to see some bad blood work. Didnt happen. My lipids actually improved! So fasting has some other effects beyond the obvious. Currently eat about 2 tubs of icecream a week. (again this is part of my post workout carb allocations). Put I eat plenty of 'fun' food.
For example, my lunch on Fri which is my pizza day, took my wife to one of our favorite lunch places and had fish fry and their nachos are GREAT. My wife and I split an order of nachos for an app and then we both get the fish fry. My wife and I both eat like this. She has always stayed in shape and looks better than most 25 year olds in a bikini still at 48 and having two kids. She always just knew how to balance. Took me years to figure out. I counted macros for many years and tracked everything. It was not till I started IF that I could balance my desires to eat and maintain decent composition. I knew how to eat, but left on it's own, my appetite would have me weighing 230 pretty quickly. That is what fasting does for me.
Kimm as always, thank you and much respect. I was talking to my wife and asking her 'why the hell am I still doing this?'. I wonder what in my life I would do with the time and energy I invest in the gym. After getting hurt and having to give up lifting heavy, I second guessed if training was worth it. But I made a promise to myself when I was almost killed that I would never stop training. Sometimes I just have to have that blind faith that this is what I need to do. Stepping back, I believe that singular dedication makes me a more focused person in all my life. It makes me more accountable to not only my self but those around me. I have friends who dont 'get it' either. But after years of knowing me, they just know it as 'me'.
But the truth is we all start evaluating our lives. 50 is a big milestone for me. At time I dont know if I am walking my path or being dragged on it by the years of self expectations. Heavy stuff, but I am still finding my way.
I am living the most 'balanced' life I ever have. Working out is pretty far down on my list of what I think or talk about. It is just what I do. Like brushing my teeth.
However, every once in a while I have a super fun and enjoyable workout. I have that moment where I can look at myself and be happy with where I am (never satisfied). I can feel proud of the work I have put in and continue to put in. Those days are less often now, but VERY motivating.
Friday was a day like that for me. Had a little 'flex' session all by myself in my home gym. No buddies to banter back and fourth with. Just snapped a selfie, and posted to bb.com.
Appreciate the ones who offer support and even the criticism. I have a lot of time and a lot of my life invested in this pursuit. I try to share knowledge but many wont listen. It all comes down to genetics and effort. But no amount of effort can overcome mediocre genes. Combine being lucky enough to have a great training response and put in 25+ years, you build a pretty impressive physique. Natural or not. Was disappointed to hang up my nattie badge as I would have loved to see how far I could have gone with it. (strength wise). I am pretty confident that I could have hit the same levels of strength regardless. But I made the switch to wanting to look lean and that is detrimental to strength, and the more you lean, and hold lean, the worse your athletic performance will be and worse your overall strength will be. (unless you were born to be 5%). Once you lean out too far, the strength and performance will never come back to where you were are 13-15% which is where I was always the strongest. Again, pick your goals.

Do you do do 3 20-22hr fasts a week? I do IF 12pm to 8pm but sometimes it's 10pm. I just started that about a month ago.
50 is a big milestone. I hit it last year. I was blessed that I didn't have high blood pressure, cholesterol or glucose, but had an eating disorder nutritionist who had me eat a lot of carbs from Nov-March so then I got pre-diabetes. I stopped seeing her and went back to a bodybuilding diet, so I hope my glucose is normal when I test it next month. Blood pressure is still super low.
The gym and walking/hiking are my special places. I lift 3x a week, sometimes 4. How does your wife have a sweet tooth and look like that? I'm jelly.

2nd pic was about a year before I went on trt. At time I had test levels of a 12 year old girl but had not figured it out yet.
Last ones are leanest I ever got nattie. You can see I shed a lot of mass getting down. I was 193 and below 10% in the last two. Yes, lifetime nattie still.
And pic of me at 21 going waaay back when I was still a baby after my first 3 years of training. I put on 50lbs pretty quickly. So as you can see, I have been at this a while....

All the calls for pic of pizza. Sorry...here you go. Our favorite local place when I dont make my own.

My frequency has more to do with how I want to eat and how and when I can take in large amounts of carbs (read foods I enjoy). I have not made any 'progress' in years. Just staying in shape these days.
Measurements: I never had hormones checked until my doc went looking after my head injury. Dont remember the exact amount, but they were significantly below the bottom number of the scale. I think the bottom is 200 for test, and under 5 for free test. I just remember him saying my levels were about the same as a 12 year old girl. It took 3 years to figure out what was wrong with me, but looking back I should have noticed that I has lost almost all my leg hair. I had 80 year old man legs with shiny skin and almost no hair. I guess when it happens over time you dont realize it.
Other measurments. I am 5'9 and about forgot all the rest. Have had 18+" arms forever. (even as nattie) My arms were always. I had to work hard on calves though. My quads were 25" but are smaller now. I have not really squatted in 4 years. I cant as much as I would like to. Permanent damage from a car accident. Squatting and deadlifting were my favorite things to do.
My focus was always strength. I would do weird things just for fun, like 405lb no-handed squats just to see if I could. If my back had not gotten injured I would still be deadlifting 6 plates for reps. Sadly as much as I have tried to re-hab over the last 4 years I just cant get my back to bear the weight. I have tried, only to have it go out and be out for weeks.
So I just 'stay fit'. That has been the hardest thing for me. I always love to compete with myself. Having to give up heavy training was tough. We all just do what we can do.
This was some fun stuff I would do to test out my core...etc. 2018. Cant do anything like this today. Probably still plenty strong, but my back is too unpredictable and can go into spasm even squatting light. I cant risk it. Not worth it.

Are you all really this clueless?

Lifting comes in many form. It is not all just about abs and vascularity. I have been at this a long time, and guys like FLEX are very rare and deserve respect. His goals are his goals (which I respect 100%). I have little doubt he would probably mog me if he decided to cut to lower levels of BF.
I had no idea the amount of muscle I carried or the quality of said muscle that was laid down from years of heavy training.
This was me before I decided to drop weight. Waist 36-37" In that pic it was me sucking it in trying to look good
The second pic was me about 30 lbs lighter and waist about 5 inches smallerSame shorts and you can see the drop in waist. It still took me years after this to really lean out. I would never do it all at once since I was still nattie and muscle loss was a real fear. But I did manage to eventually get down close to the range I wanted to be/stay. The last pic is as lean as I ever got while still lifetime natty. I was in the low 190's. (yes I realize my FFMI is right at the peak of what some "say" can be done nattie. But my arms are actually bigger than Casey Butts model says is possible. That is the problem with models, they are not perfect)
Anyway, feel free to bust gordo, but if you had a clue, you would realize a lot of you could learn something from FLEX. Myself included.
