You're friend is a lawyer? He's a fuking idiot.
He knows the law, he knows the consequences. I have no sympathy for his idiot behavior srs.
He could have filed assault charges as soon as he was hit in the face and covered his own ass. Instead he carried out a premeditated assault.
He's a lawyer and no prenup? Clown world.
Swear on me mum 90% of these "Wife divorced and took half of his chit" stories I read here on the misc are 100% the mans fault from day 1.

He’s got to get a good lawyer.

He had it all wrapped up. An injury, could've just called the cops and insulated himself from responsibility since, at the point she hurled the frozen burrito, it was all on her.
Now he's gonna lose EVERYTHING because he retaliated. Hell, he might not have even "won" if he just reported her and isolated himself.

The most fuked up part to me is her demeanor COMPLETELY changed after they got married.
She went from being an angel to being a controlling devil with no regard for my buddies own personal well being.

She worked your friend pretty quick. I hope he learned something.

Howdy dopamine....
That story truly sucks to hear.
Hence....generally speaking, if I were asked by anyone?
I would recommend that all clear thinking young men remain the Lone Wolf to keep total control of your life, finances, future and emotional well being.
Get a dog, it will be unconditionally loyal.
The entitled modern western woman is not what I would define as marriage/wife material.
I could prattle on with this subject but will restrain myself.
But, that's just me....to each their own choices and consequences.
Have a great day everyone....

That's honestly on him... Especially as a lawyer he should be well aware not to let his emotions pull him into what's classified as assault on a female. Then also should know it doesn't matter who you are, even Jeff bezos, the legal system never favors the man in a divorce without a prenup even if you haven't been together long. He let his emotions get the best of him like a beta.
Height/Weight: Undisclosed to prevent possible triggering.

In situations like this you remain calculated, think before acting out to have the upper hand later. (See Depp vs Heard)

No....not at all.
I just provided my opinion based on what I've witnessed and perceive in thetraditional marriage contextbeing 75 years old.
The risk/benefit delta is far too great from my perspective.
The "Lone Wolf" comment is just a figure of speech.
BTW....I havenotbeen "asked".

To each their own path.
Back to it....(I'm guessing "OG" is old guy)

Yeah that's not even close to how it works.
She's only entitled assets earned after they got married. But what will happen is she'll keep fighting it until he settles with her as attorney's fees rack up.
As for alimony, in CA, you generally get it for half of whatever the duration of the marriage was. Over 10 years of marriage, and you may be eligible for lifetime alimony.

His stock is worth more, though. I'd have to figure it out.Yeah that's not even close to how it works.

We would split the assets we received after we got married. For instance he bought a condo before we got married, so I wouldn't be entitled to it. But then while we were married he sold the condo for a profit and used that profit as a down payment for our house, so now the net worth of the home is 50/50.
