Pretty sure its not their best practice. You'll notice Linux avoids all confrontation about it too. Somewhere, someone, sometime probably decided it was best practice to just 'ignore any call outs and they'll go away' and then it got codified. They likely have 100s of pages of 'practices' on how to deal with disgruntled forum posters that out them.
