On the Godfrd824 end of things, turns out he can't even do 1 strict pullup. He says he can do 3 chinups with chin to bar ROM, maybe that I can believe. But even if that one was true, IIRC he said he weighed 265 during the 3 chinup claim. 265x3 on a low ROM chinup does not match up with 315 for 4-6 on bench at all.
Different muscles buddy. Lol. This is your furthest reach yet.

Cool. I could do that in my 20s, now a days I can maybe hit 2. But I don't prioritize weight now and haven't for a while.

Not since high school, since I was 17, because I don't see the point. And not because of a tear, but because even getting up to that wright I had to deal with costochondritis, which I have posted about before.

I'll be 55 in 3 months. I haven't lifted weights in over 5 years and am just doing calisthenics. Pull ups, push ups and dips are just the beginning. These are google searches images to give an idea what I mean by calisthenics

Planche https://www.google.com/search?sca_es...&bih=970&dpr=1 I am just at advance tuck for that, not full. It's a lever and I am 6' 180ish which doesn't help

Front lever https://www.google.com/search?sca_es...&bih=970&dpr=1 I am at full for this one

Currently working on human flag https://www.google.com/search?sca_es...&bih=970&dpr=1

It's just stuff I find interesting and fun to do and also keeps me in shape. The feeling of making progress towards being able to do it is rewarding as well. I also work a lot of "flexibility" mobility and yes can full pancake and just about got front splits and will work more on middle split when I am fully down on front split

Pancake (as flat as a pancake) https://www.google.com/search?sca_es...&bih=970&dpr=1 I am fully down, chest on floor

I also practice standing up, without using arms and move around very well. Crossed leg stand up no arm use is easy. You might think this is nothing, but I see a lot of lifters going through stages of standing up from the floor and they seem to be in pain from lower back and probably more. I stand up from floor no arms easily. No lower back, shoulder, elbows, knees, ankle or wrist pain.

I do get older guys coming up to me and saying they wish they had switched to how I workout when they were younger. I get guys around my age and younger ask me what I am training for and if all I do is that (do you lift) cause ya, I am a muscular build and no I don't lift weights. A lot more people at my gym are doing more calisthenics and working on flexibility/mobility now.

I have nothing against weight lifting and hopefully am not coming off as a calisthenics snob. Do what you enjoy and keeps you sane and healthy.

"Old man strength" is ligament, tendon, connective tissue related. Men that work stuff like brick layers and repeatedly doing their job over years will develop that. (edit: Men that work office jobs and even if they do traditional bodybuilding workouts will not really develop that. Gaining strength/muscle size with weight lifting doesn't work tendons the same and probably why lifters get injured with tendons…..cause their muscles are much stonger than what the tendons can handle, but I am no expert on this). The stuff I do involves a lot of holding a pretty difficult static hold for time also develops that….faster….but still takes far more time to develop than muscle strength. Rock climbing also develops that.

The old fuks is similar talks to Kormo saying he used to bang & get flo jobs from hot bishes on the reg back in high school.

What he really meant was, he had a blow up doll for every day of the week and would use the different attachments on his hoover vacuum.

That wasn't Kormo, that was Johnny who said he used to be a Char. Kormo's schtick is that he's a volcel who has transcended human needs and desires.

I didn't say that's what I do currently. But that would be what I normally do depending on how I feel and whether I have a spotter. In fact, I have mentioned that I am not lifting consistently because of injuries, and have not been running and instead using the elliptical for the same reason.

Nah son you said in that thread you start with 275 and then work up to your max of 315x4. Or 6 on a good day.

That's more an issue of drugs. When you do resistance training, the resistance makes the muscles get stronger. The stronger muscles then place more stress on the tendons and the tendons get stronger. The tendons then place more stress on the bones and the bones gst stronger.

When you add gear in to the mix, the muscles get stronger faster, but the tendons don't. The result is the muscles applying more force than the tendons can handle; causing injuries.

If you look at who get pec tears, biceps tears etc, it is almost always people on gear.

Regarding strength and aging, you just have to adjust volume and intensity (specifically volume at high intensity) (intensity in the sport science sense i.e. % 1RM not the wanky how hard you worked sense) to allow for changes in recovery.

When younger you might be able to do 5 sets of 3 reps and recover fine, but as you get older 1or 2 sets of 3 and the the other 3 sets with 5, 7 or whatever reps will suit recovery better. You can still lift heavy and low rep, but you can't do as high a percentage of your volume in the low rep range.

I'm 49, have had a stroke, have a pacemaker and still outlift nearly everybody in a gym. People don't ask me about training. They can see the scars and the pace pushing out againt my skin when training and they think better of complaning about how their knees, elbows or whatever have stopped them from doing stuff.
Screw nature; my body will do what I DAMN WELL tell it to do!

The only dangerous thing about an exercise is the person doing it.

They had the technology to rebuild me. They made me better, stronger, faster……

The thing is no one cares how much you lift. So how much you lifted 20 years ago isn't a story. So they shouldn't tell people.

I was pretty transparent about trying it and not continuing. That's not lying. Lying is wearing a fake gold chain and tricking women into thinking you have money.

Godfrd does that one too.

Claims he married a black woman out of choice because they're the most attractive. He could have gotten a white woman if he wanted to and in fact, he was running through them when he was younger according to him.

Also, misc is well aware of sloots slooting and how they go for Jeremy Meeks types. Yet Godfrd is so far removed from reality that he thinks he can convince misc that women go for good men and good personalities.

You're damn right. Let's not pretend like we're not all losers here. Some of us are losers and alcoholics though, and if that's not putting a hat on a hat, IDK what is.

This one I will never get. If I had married a white woman, they'd say it was because I hate my own race. But if I marry a woman that is the exact same race and ethnicity as me, I'm somehow coping.

I don't need to remind you that you're not an attractive guy by any means. At least I can say that at one point I was attractive, and of course I have an old AVI which you have seen that proves that, you can't say the same. Lol.
