bought this invicta 9094 pro diver on amazon during a black friday sale

looking to wear it every day with anything from very casual attire (tshirt, jeans and sneakers) to business casual. should i swap out the bracelet for a nato strap or something? if so, what type of band/color would go well with this watch?

reps for help

generally a band matches its dial or bezel

so youre probably looking at a something like:

- a black band
- a blue band
- a black band with blue stitching

The band generally wont have too many colors that are not found somewhere on the watch dial/bezel unless it really matches.
For example, a blue dial watch would look fine with a black band even though theres no black on the dial. But you wouldnt put a red band on the watch.

The watch would look find with either leather or rubber also.

A brown leather nato would look better IMO.

My mako that I adore. I have a bambino as well.

I can't wait to be done school and make real money to buy a real watch. Not sure if I want an omega manual wind man on the moon, Rolex no date sub c, Rolex date just w/ white gold bezel, or a Rolex explorer 2 polar dial.

What are service costs like on vintage Vacheron? Maybe when I'm out of school I'll get a vintage Vacheron 6405 for my dress watch and ceramic nodate sub for my every day watch.

Vacheron is still pretty serviceable by independent watchmakers.(vintage especially).

The comparison to AP (1000+ for service) is pretty noticeable.

Couple of pics from my phone!

Black Bay is now gone, snapped a pic before it's departure

A relative has a Steinhart Ocean 1 ceramic ordered, they look pretty good value with an ETA 2824! If anyone is interested I'll get some pictures when it arrives. If it seems somewhat well made I may pick up a Ocean One Vintage Military as a beater and chuck it on a NATO, I love the raised crystal and vintage look

for what its worth I have an ovm and its not a bad watch at all, its definately no sub, but to be honest its well worth the ~400 dollar price. the resale isnt bad either you get back what you paid for them in most cased albeit only a few hundred bucks. right now its running at about -4 seconds per day after being in the box for a few days since winding and setting it on friday. it usually stays within cosc regulations although not a certified chronometer.

actually wearing it today:

edit: pretty sure this is fake but blurry pics, calling detectives:

Oh awesome! Yeah, I'm not expecting anything too crazy but i've heard they're pretty good value. How grey is the dial? Ive seen some pictures but sometimes it doesnt look too bad and others it looks really light.

Also that speedmaster looks off, pretty sure the subdials are smaller/ spaced apart a little further than that. Would stay away!
Edit: just read the description LOL wat. Have a GO GET attitude and just BUY it, no verification needed +100points to respect.

oroginally I thought the same. It when I handled one it wasn't a huge drawback despite the 44mm case. My pops has one in his collection (major Seiko fan), and it isn't as out of place as one would expect giving the lug:case dimensions.

Fukc me brahs I can't stop looking at watches what is wrong with me? I'm already planning out a collection that I won't be able to afford until I'm done school which would be 25 or 26 at the earliest. Got damn.

I want a Rolex sub c, omega man on the moon, Vacheron 81180 or 85180 in rose gold and then something vintage. Maybe something like a vintage gold pocket watch. But I also want a vintage Vacheron 6405 and it would be silly to have two vacheron dress watches. Maybe a vintage omega seamaster? Fuark.

Yellow gold seems too bold for me. As soon as I saw the 81180 in rose gold I hnnged so hard. I've been watching videos and learning for like a month now. How can I learn a lot about watches? I've bought the two orient and now I'm hooked on mechanical watches and can't wait to buy some real ones.

I agree. If anything watches are trending in young people. I think kids that grew up on the interwebs are more exposed to watches than ever with Hodinkee, the Instagram watch scene, etc.

This thread got me into watches. I migrated over from the S&P threads. Didn't know what an omega was until I got here. I was never exposed to watches IRL. My father is a multi millionaire and has been wearing a $200 two tone Seiko scratched to hell for the last fifteen years. He puts band aids on the inside of the bracelet so it doesn't pull his hair. I've tried talking to him about watches and he looks at me like I've got two heads.

I'd have a lot more money having never found this thread that's for sure.
