Testing the in-lens stabilization of the Fuji XF 50-140mm. Handheld at 1/9 of a second. Camera/Lens technology is getting ridiculous.

Thoughts on mirrorless cameras? I just purchased the Sony a6000. I love it so far! This is my first nice camera and I'm super stoked to learn and take some nice shots

Now just waiting on the Bowens mount to attach the new Rotalux 39" Deep Octa to it. So excited to ditch the ND Filters for portrait work.

well my photography gig has been short lived.
I just don't have time. I start a new job next week and I just don't have time to take pictures. I've had the camera for two months. I've been out with it 3-4 times. I thought I'd be into more than I am, but the biggest problem is the price for lens's.
I only have the Nikon 85mm 1.8. The camera is a Nikon D750. 300 clicks on it. Still under warranty. I bought it all from B&H photography.
I still have the paper work.
Will to sell the lens for $390.00 shipped.
I'll let the camera go for $1,700 shipped with insurance/tracking. with extra battery and one memory card.
I'll let both go together for $2,000 shipped. With extra battery and memory card
if any of you are interested or know someone who is let me know.

HSS does waste power but when you've got 600ws on tap you can get away with it even in full sunlight with a large modifier provided it's in reasonably close. This gear is so cheap you can easily stuff two into a large modifier.
If you don't have any wind to deal with a deep umbrella will probably get similar results to an octa. You still can't beat an umbrella when it comes to ease and speed of setting up not to mention there are more options for mounting multiple lights since you're not stuck with an expensive mount.

the question is how much is HSS going to waste?
i would like to see how you stuff two into one modifier.. that would be a laugh.
cheers

Big difference.

I remember years ago when multiple flashes seemed ridiculous unless you were Joe McNally with a big team, along came Dave Black with a couple of Foursquare brackets shooting 8 Nikon speedlights over a Radiopopper w/ HSS. Suddenly it didn't seem ridiculous since there was no other way to shoot action and get those results. My point is people find ways to make this stuff work.

For years I've been hearing that DSLRs should die. Get the best mirrorless and line it up with a Nikon D5. No contest.
My honest opinion is that it's a niche that has been created to keep sales up. Sensor technology has reached a point where you can buy a decent DSLR and probably not feel a need to replace it for at least 5 years. That's no good for manufacturers and camera stores. So they needed something new. And of course they get to charge you a premium for it. You still pay more for a mirrorless model with similar specs and features to a DSLR.

Hey guys, I'm looking to upgrade my hiking/photography gear and what I'm considering doing is getting a legit hiking bag like an Osprey and then using something like this to hold my camera gear among all my clothing, etc.
Does anyone have this or something similar by any chance?
http://amzn.to/1PsPrwQ
I need it to fit a Nikon D600, Nikon 24-70, Nikon 70-200 2.8, and preferably also a Tokina 11-16 2.8 but the 2 nikon lenses are top priority. What I really wanted to get is the F-stop Loka UL with a medium shallow ICU but they've been out of stock for months now plus I feel like there are many more choices to fit one's needs out there when not limited to just camera backpacks and going with the camera/lens insert route like with the Tenba BYOB 10 above.
Any advice?

Took some photos of a storm the other day. It went tornado warned twice, first time putting down an EF2 tornado which was blocked by a hill so I couldn't get a damn photo…National weather service called my cell as I was on it asking what I was seeing haha. Then it went tornado warned again as I was taking this timelapse but nothing ever touched down from this one.
