Honestly I thought the dude checked out after not getting the starting RT job back. That concussion seemed suspect as fuk so whatever…only thing that pisses me off about this whole situation is we lost out a roster spot that could've been used for another player for him and that fuking idiot Bruce Miller.

Wonder who gets called up for a roster spot now? Kinda hoping Marcus Rush gets it. Let him see what he can do because Carradine/Harold hasn't done too much against the pass.

That thought didn't even cross my mind. I am still waiting to hear about Ward, and Vance to see how bad their injuries are. It would be fun to see is Rush can produce anything. He earned it…

Barrows: Jimmie Ward is week to week with a quad strain. That's good news considering the manner which he went down Sunday.

There you have it…. I would have liked to see rush but when Lynch comes back he would be cut more than likely and put back on the PS.

Baalke with another grade A pickup, an unknown WR when we could've promoted Rush, or someone else worth it. Gabbert doesn't even fukin throw to WR's.

Not too upset about Rush. He's better off on the PS since he can't play the run at all…we have Dallas coming in, they'all be running it like crazy. Can't have guys going crazy rushing Prescott since he can run. I think defense plays better at home but I honestly don't want us winning games so we can hopefully find our guy.

Keep hearing about Armstead and his shoulder. Sucks cause I was excited to see him play but then knew when it was first reported he would never be at 100% this year and each game would only get worse. Wondering if they should just shut him down and get the surgery done now?

I literally have no idea what team is gonna show up Sunday and I'm not sure I am looking forward to the answer either.

Definitely a bummer that Armstead hurt his shoulder. I still remember how much Justin and Aldon's play dropped off in 2012 after they hurt their shoulders.

Hopefully it's not going to be a long term and recurring issue. Maybe shutting him down early wouldn't be a bad idea for long term health of the kid.

i know its early into the season, but they should just put armstead on IR or end his season. Dude is definitely hurt, and they've already stated that the injury will require surgery. No point to roll him out there. Besides, wouldnt mind seeing more of blair.

I really hope they can pick up josh gordon. Draft a top qb paired with josh gordon and hopefully we draft another wr with our #2 pick. The OL is looking decent if hyde stays healthy that offense would be nice.

Not sure if we have the vets to keep someone like Gordon in line. Would love to take a chance on him but after the last few years I'm not sure the team will risk it.

I'm still not in the fire Baalke camp but IMO he's on super thin ice right now. This team needs talent on offense…these receivers are a joke. Injuries to some guys certainly didn't help but this is crazy.

I'm also having a tough time figuring Chip out. No question he's better than the chit we had last year but boy he gets a lot of heat and all the Eagle fans think switching from him is doing wonders on that team and hard to argue with how well they've played so far. I'm hoping he wasn't a stop gap and we let him play this out…hopefully after he's able to get his QB in the upcoming draft.

Defense still needs help with a stud passrusher but with a developing and healthy Armstead/Buckner I think we'll be ok with Lynch and the other guys. Offense needs talent though.

My dream would be drafting Myles Garrett, doing an Alex Smith like trade for Jimmy Garroppolo(2 2nd rounders) and signing Alshon Jeffrey in FA.

Sort of a pipe dream but until we're officially not picking top 2 then the dream is still alive. I think those moves make us an instant playoff contender. Two proven players at a position we desperately need and a stud pass rusher to get our defense back to dominant status.

We have one of the worst qb/receivers combo in the league it needs serious rebuilding. Gordon is risky but chip kelly could do a lot with him if he actually made it onto the field.

That offseason is a real reach IMHO. You are trading for Garrapolo based on 4 career starts AND giving him a huge contract to be the starter when he might be a Brock Osweiler. Very risky, not to mention that Chip can't do that zone read crap with Jimmy. Alshon will command a huge price tag and I just don't know if he'll ever be durable enough to justify it. He's already slowed by injuries. Plus the Bears have the money to keep him if they want especially once they get rid of Cutler.

The 49ers can't go wrong with either Deshaun/Deshone, but the Bears and Browns will also be looking for a young QB. I just wouldn't get emotionally attached to one player, that never ends well.
The strong will stand, the weak will fall.

LONG POST:

No thanks on Josh Gordon, we have had enough troubled players around here last few years. Why we gonna bring him to a team with the dankest bud in the world grown around it?

Baalke needs to go after this season. Their is really no excuse for his inability to go out and sign people who will help, or draft soundly. Look, I am in the draft is a crapshoot party but let's be real. At least draft healthy players. And maybe draft people that aren't solely picked because they fit his "approval" but because they have legit talent. I'm not as upset with his draft picks cause he's had some decent one's but some suck (happens) but really the ACL strategy. Should have been retired after like 1-2 trials if they aren't like last pick in the draft. Let's hope Redmond and Smelter blow us away but how's that looking. Bout the same as Brandon Thomas and Marcus Lattimore. Which is about the same as Trey Millard. Tank? Reaser? Those are the two with any production and other than basically being on the roster how happy are we with those picks? That's a lot of picks right there basically wasted.

Along with that his inability to look at the roster and say what the fuk is this. Where is the WR talent? Why are Devey and Pears on the roster let alone starting? I think it's a big statement that some of our main contributors recently were brought up from the practice squad - Wilhoite, TJE, Purcell, Tiller, Boone and some others. Is that a lack of scouting, an ignoring of talent, a purposeful dismissal of talent. I wouldn't be surprised if Jeron Hamm is legit and makes some plays because of how bad Baalke is at making a roster and providing talent.

Figuring Chip out: IMO Chip needs what we are missing, what is described above, talent, and athleticism. Let's break it down. In Oregon his offense was not only fast moving, but fast all over. Dynamic, explosive, athletic. When I look at our offense I don't see that. I do see a solid OL, a plus, and a good RB in Hyde with potential to be great there. At TE and WR it's lacking. Losing Bruce was a huge blow, but we need to utilize Patton differently, Kerley is ok but Bruce Ellington is probably a bit more dynamic, and Torrey is a deep threat but not much more.

Pause- Last year I think Chip wanted to make a roster like he had in Oregon, it fits his system and feels right to him. Buuuut…In the NFL these guys aren't like college. It's not them buying in as much if they don't like you, they have egos, they get paid, they aren't in college anymore. Chip learned this the hard way and now is saying ok, I'll tell you what I want but it's up to you if you really wanna give it to me. Takes us to example A - Kap. IMO clearly Chip wants him to be QB, but two things are holding this back. One, Gabbert is Baalke's guy and Kap is not a favorite of anyone higher up in the FO. Seconds the FO and Chip know regardless how they view him, Kap may be done. Chip can't go all in on Kap and then have him fail. It looks terrible on Chip and his coaching prowess if he props Kap up as his guy then they both fail. Baalke or Chip won't allow that, at least not until after Gabbert has run his course and Kap is the "second choice, number 2" who then comes in after Gabbert does what everyone is expecting, and sucks.

Failure on Baalke's part is part of this because Driskell could have been the project or they said hey fuk it Chip this year we might blow cause we ain't got QB's but we'll keep you here and draft one high next year spend a lot in FA cause we can and that will be your project and however that turns out is how your fate turns out too after we ride that wave a few years.

Back to Chip and his roster. We don't have the offensive talent he desires. He is letting that come, but it's coming slowly. He may know we can't win this year and he is trying to, but knows the talent is too much to overcome, especially now with some more injuries to players like Ellington, Armstead, and Ray Ray. I'm willing to let Chip do his thing, see how Kap turns out in this system the second half of system and then see if we draft a guy to play QB behind Kap (if Kap succeeds), or just to be THE guy going forward next year.

Chip is a great coach, but he needs talent, not talent he decides on as a GM, but just talent on the roster to coach up. We'll get their, hopefully, that's more on Baalke IMO.

More thoughts on the roster in general and current state of team: Sucks Armstead is injured, really sucks, but get him healthy for next year and let Blair play and develop in real games this year, I like him. Getting Lynch back will be great but Ahmad won't last long. We need another talented pass rusher and sadly I don't think Eli or Tank is that, as much as I want them to be. Also we need to figure out the TE, I don't think Vance is the guy but could be a good number two. Hoping Hamm comes in and plays well, he is athletic and big and can catch, let's hope the guy balls out. I want Mike Davis to get some more run. He looked great in preseason and Draughn hasn't showed much outside that one TD run he had opening night. Give the guy a chance and see what happens, he looked great in preseason. We need to tell Gabbert hey man, you got nothing to lose, run it, chuck it, do whatever the **** you want cause at this point your playing for your spot, and please for the love of god throw it past the sticks on third down.

Tomorrow is already a big statement game in terms of where this team is at and where they are headed. That really reflects on the QB as we all know from last year. Gabbert doesn't and shouldn't have a free ride with performances like he's had the last two weeks. Even in week one when he was good he left some to be desired. I want him to succeed but god it's frustrating to watch him most times. Tomorrow will be a big telling for his future and the rest of this year. I really will be bummed if we come out tomorrow and lose to a historical rival at home. Niners need to step up, Chip needs to step up, and Baalke needs to step up.

Game day! I think the defense will be fine as they usually play better at home but Cowboys OL is formidable and we have Ray Ray and Ward out. Let's hope to see a pass rush and some sacks.

TBH this game is all about whether our offense can show up. The Cowboys aren't a defensive juggernaut and we are at home, no excuses today. They need to put up drives and points. Let's get a W! Go Niners!

Defense started slow but got the stop. Gabbert did enough there to get the third downs which is key. Glad the offense started hot and yes the OL did great to pick up the blitz on that TD. Let's go.
