Since I discovered I could turn movies into panoramas, and hence into circular panoramas, I've been overdoing it a bit tbh… :/
I like this one though.

So i'm in the market for a wide angle lens and i've narrowed it down to these two

1) https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sigma-10-20...=sigma+10-20mm

2) https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sigma-10-20...=sigma+10-20mm

The first one a wider and fixed aperture and is obviously more expensive than the one with the narrower aperture. I want this lens for an airshow i'll be attending as well as car meets/events and i need something that can fit a lot of stuff inside. I also plan on using it on taking night shots of buildings.

I'll be buying used as i don't have money to burn and will be needing uv filters too. Which lens do you think would suit my needs best? My camera is a Canon 700D.

Also how does this cheap Canon lens compare?

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Canon-9519B...=canon+10-20mm

and this Tamron?

I can tell you right now that Tamron isn't going to be the sharpest of lenses…

The sigma is a better option but honestly I would look into the Tamron 11-16 2.8 if I were you. I just picked one up for my father in law on ebay used in brand new condition for $280.

How can you tell that about the Tamron? Also which of the Sigma lenses as they are both different. I haven't been able to find the 11-16 Tamron anywhere online.

The closest thing to it is this one

I've got the Canon 10-18 and I use it a lot. It's not fantastic, but it's good. It would be great, if Canon would come out with a lens profile to correct CA/distortion, in-camera. Maybe it has, I haven't checked for a while.

Lightroom has really good profile correction.

Just ordered the Canon 50mm f1.8 STM.
Thinking of doing a bit of streetphotog' during the Edinburgh Festival. Did a wee bit last weekend, but I felt I was attracting too much attention with my big DSLR and lens. Ditch the battery grip, stick on the nifty 50, and use live view, and I could pass for a tourist.
Could have done with a 1.8 50mm for this shot, had to blur the background a bit as is was taken with a 10mm everythingisinfocus lens.

Some nice shots there. Digging the undersaturation, but could do with a wee bit more contrast in some of the shots.
Great subject.

I thought this was the best one

The one with the camera looking up into the light, I thought it took away the rest of the shot.
More contrast. If you're good at post-processing some of this could be easily fixed. good job.

Didn't add more contrast intentionally, ruined the clean lines and minimal composition, the dark muted sky was enough contrast for the scenes in my opinion. I only wish I had a wider lens as these were all taken with the kit 18-55. Thanks for the critique ! Adding crew to sig

Really good stuff on this thread, especially the last few pages.

A lot of improvement between many long time peeps in here (Wish I could say similar!) Some of my more recents to come!

Question: I'm thinking of buying a bigger desktop monitor and hooking up my 13inch MBP to it through thunderbird. Any help/assistance on getting a good monitor? Any good guides/ what to look for? May just be worthwiile to go to the apple store and check out.

Also, not sure what reqs are on my comp and what limitations I have on monitors thereforward.
my MBP is a i5 processor with an intel 5200 gpu.

here's something you should consider - Dell P2715Q - imo the best balance between price and image quality.
