For Christmas, I bought Magpul 30-round polymer magazines for my father-in-law’s Norinco AK so he could ditch the cheap metal Chinesium ones that came with the rifle.

I recommend getting a regular model and have the slide milled for the optic of your choice. Getting an RMR milled footprint gives you the ability to use several different optics.
I have…didn't want to dik with sending slide out to get milled. If I didn't get MOS I'd have to get the stock blank slide and use stock sights until I send out the slide to get milled id assume? (meaning nothing will work on the stock slide)

Definitely good stuff.

Liberty is supposed to be the #1 word/takeaway from an Appleseed. The shooting/marksmanship is the hook to get people in to talk about Liberty. Good shooting, Rifleman is minimum score of 210/250 and stage 2 is fairly quick, it requires a level of proficiency with operation of your rifle including mag changes on the clock
Thanks! Mag changes weren't too bad - for me, it was overall time management on any given string - one try on stage two, only got 5/10 shots off, was taking too long. I liked the Liberty discussions to be sure, but I didn't see it as the marksmanship being a hook or anything. Provided context, and not just what the colonists/revolutionaries were doing, but why and how they were forced to that point. Certainly stopped short of any implications or comparisons to today, and I get it - if it became even remotely political or preferential, there'd be anti-gun folks up in arms (ironic choice of words, I know) about a crazed right-wing militia being formed every session. As I said, I liked the lessons, especially having been to Lexington and Concord a few years back with the family.

Well in my opinion getting stuck with a MOS is worse than dealing with sending out a slide to be cut. I'd hate to see someone get a POS and be disappointed.

Battle Werx in CT has done it for me another others in this thread. For most, the total turnaround time was less than two weeks, it's $100.

Fun fact: RE: democrats up in arms to ban learning how to shoot/discussing Liberty…Appleseed hasn't allowed instructors to show up wearing any camo for a long time, there was a big to-do about it way back

That's why I asked this question 8 years ago

Thanks for the recommendation. I'll check them out. So removing the slide on these is pretty simple/straight forward.

Just place an order on their site and then send them the slide?

Most popular/recommended is the RMR cut? (will prob want to put a halosun on it)

MySouthernTactical is good if you give magazines out as gifts. I gave out the Elmo ones a few years back for gifts. I also gave my BIL a KFC one, and a crayon one. Can't remember exactly which I chose back then, but made for easy holiday shopping: https://www.mysoutherntactical.com/m...html?viewall=1

I have two Glock slides milled by Battle Werx, sent togther. They are good, no complaints. Would use again if I was looking to get what they offer.

I also see good reviews I trust for Maple Leaf Firearms, and others…lots of Glock options. ATEi also comes to mind

I would not buy an MOS.

buddy told me that during the 25th-jan 1st there will be a huge mark down since places needed to restock their inventory with new items. Is this bullchit or is it true? He was telling me to wait on buying my AR but with how it looks. It seems many won't be available or out of stock by that time.

What exactly are you looking to buy?

I do not expect a mark down on firearms at the end of the year. That, doesn't really happen

Purchase the cut, print the order and pack it with the slide and drop it in the mail.

RMR cut isn't compatible with everything, just be certain the optic you want is compatible obviously.

I had Battle Werx cerakote my slide a couple weeks ago. I like it a lot.

shotgun to complete my pistol/rifle/shotgun newb set up.

I didn't think so either I've done a lot of research and I run an amazon business on the side. It's usually a gimmick IMO because its only marked down very little.

Alright so it looks like the gun ban in my state has a hold on it for the time being. I was looking to get a couple more things before the law goes into effect (namely a .45 and some extended mags), so hopefully the mob rush to get guns and mags dies down asap

i like 25 round mags for my 308 ARs, but that is likely affected by the fact i had my rights heavily restricted in commiefornia for too long.

I had Culper Precision in Provo, UT cut my slide and cerakote my G19 Gen 5 frame.

They did great work but it took like eight weeks and the day after I picked it up they also made a post on IG doing some hardcore cop bootlicking so that turned me off pretty quick. The cut/cerakote was only like $175 which is a pretty good price apparently.

Also, if anyone is interested in the god tier AR, I have a KAC 11.5" upper for sale. $2100 shipped and insured.

Can provide more information if anyone is interested.

I would have guessed that was a S&W M&P Sport II. The notch in the pistol grip I thought was exclusive to that.

I would have bought one of those but that notch killed it for me.
