This page gives you a good summary of key game concepts:

What helps a lot with learning the game is figuring what sort of playstyle you prefer and sticking to a limited number of champions/roles that fits your profile. There is a mountain of knowledge you need to learn and internalize and it's hard to get a good grasp of the game when you're constantly swapping champions trying to get used to too many things at once.

Also, this game doesn't have a built-in voice chat right?
Thanks btw for the response.

And yeah, no in-game voice so you need to get good at pinging and communicating on chat.

I just dont get it i really dont. How am i in gold and people cant seem to know how to group up like is it really that hard. I mean i could understand if its bronze but this is gold you would think people would atleast know the basics of grouping. Just lost two games back to back where we were super ahead (10k gold ahead) and could not group…. literally 50 minutes into the game talon is running around in their jungle flipping around and getting cought. Annie i jungling our jungle when they have open inhibs and we win easy if we just 5v5.
Even typing in chat please group like 5 times after someone gets caught doesnt seem to do the trick. How do people get to gold not being able to do something as basic as group please aware me. I dont have problem with losing when other team is better but when we are clearly ahead and lose **** fukkin hurts so bad.

Is it too late to play this game as a noob?
Someone just convinced me to try this game a week ago and I can say I'm pretty much enjoying this more than expected.
Is there like a beginner's guide anywhere in this thread or anywhere that you guys can point me to?
• like basic terminologies
• general objective and rules
• roles and positioning on the map
• basic strategy for beginners and hopefully soon in ranked games.
Anything will surely help me since I really know nothing so far about the game except to get gold, try to kill champs, destroy towers, move forward until we destroy the base.
I read some about the talent tree but I think its too early for me to worry about it since I'm only level 4 I think lol. So for now, I'm trying to understand the basic.
TIA

I'll start by saying I agree with V, stick to a core few champs that you really enjoy playing. I know Riot makes it hard because they give you a free rotating champ list every week with different champs, but once you find one that you really love playin, buy it and stick with it.
Once you got your champion pool, I'd recommend really focusing on CS (killing creeps) as the first thing you do. It is the fundamental way for obtaining gold, and I'd argue it's the most important skill to have in League. The player who is always consistent with CS will always be relevant in the game. There are a lot of tutorials and youtube vids that show you proper ways to CS and give you ways to practice. To this day, I'll still load up a custom game and just autoattack creeps to practice my CS.
Overall, it's difficult to just spout information for league because there is so much of it. Each champ and each role have completely different playstyles. If you ever have any specific questions feel free to hit me up or post in here brah.

Keep practicing CSing until it becomes natural to you. One quick thing I'll mention is that the priority for creeps should be cannon > melee creeps > ranged creeps. If you are ever in a situation where you have to choose between creeps because you can't get them all, keep that in mind. Cannon naturally has higher gold and experience values than the other creeps so you should really try to not miss those.
Once you are comfortable and not missing too many creeps, start learning how to trade with enemy champs, meaning landing autoattacks or spells on enemy champs while also CSing. It's a difficult skill to be able to outduel your lane opponent while also not missing CS, but it's pretty important in the grand scheme of the game as it'll help you develop leads and advantages across the map.

So far I have only played range class, Varus, Lissandra and Ashe and thats the order of who I play most and its usually Varus.
I got a few questions:
1. Playing range and mostly AD base, I seem to enjoy having higher attack speed. So for Varus, I usually get Runaan's Hurricane, Berserker's Greaves and Infinity Blade then the rest of the slots are random items that I can easily get. Do you guys farm gold until you save enough to buy one of each above or do you buy each needed components to craft everytime you get enough gold? The former seems to save travel time back and forth but the latter seems to give me incremental improvement without having to wait longer to be able to buy one of each higher item.
2. Before yesterday, I only played Bot Intro games, then last night, I played some beginner bot games. Competition on beginner is obviously tougher, maybe I landed on top 3 of 5 games but the champion kills are not as high as when I play on Intro. I noticed in my history that I get more XP/IP when I was at Intro getting 30+ kills than in Beginners getting about 15-20 champ kills. Should I stay in Intro for now? I'm only level 6 lol.
3. I noticed some players are asking the team to fall back whenever there are lanes moving faster towards the enemy base. I'm thinking they want to farm more for golds, kills and items. Does this mean we get more XP/IP having longer fewer games than having more quickly finished games?
4. I got a couple of champion shards from loot box and I unlocked them to permanent champs using essences. Is that OK or should I just save essence for later? How did I even get those boxes?
Thanks bruhs!

When to back with what amout of gold is something you will learn over time once you understand build paths and itemization.

2. Did you lose any of those beginner games? if you lose you get way less, (though doubt you lost those games unless it was Intermediate) also if the game lasts shorter, you will also get less, if you end a game at 20 minutes and another one at 30, you will get more XP/IP from the 30 minute game. If you are winning all of your beginner games then stay there until lvl 20, otherwise, keep playing intro, (note: after lvl 10 you will receive way less xp/ip in intro games and will not get first win of the day reward, which basically means they want you to be doing beginner games after lvl 10)
What I would do if i were you is, keep playing beginner bots until you feel they are too easy then try intermediate, but play bots in general until lvl 20, after lvl 20, make sure to buy tier 2 runes since you wont have enough IP for tier 3 (unless you have been using IP boosts)
and go straight into normals, there is no reason why you should keep doing bots which is completely different from real players, and pre-30 players are around your skill anyways so you will naturally get better playing vs them, plus even if you lose it doesn't matter since its normals and you are just trying to learn and level.
So at lvl 20 do normals until lvl 30, then at 30 if you feel confident enough and have decided which champions you want to main/play the most, (keep a champ pool of no more than 5 imo), out of those 5 pick your top 3, then buy a rune page for that #1 champ that you like the most/feel most confident with, then buy the one for #2
and start doing your ranked placements, keep in mind that you have to queue for 2 roles, so while you are doing normals from 20-30 play different roles, jungle, mid, top, adc, support, and pick the 2 you like the most so when you queue for ranked you put the 2 you want to play and are confident with
3.Unless you are finishing games before 7 minutes (if you are then u will receive 0 xp/ip it wont count as a game) then there is 0 reason not to end the game, you want to get in and out of games asap, that way you can level faster. Generally when all lanes are pushing into enemy base u want to get all the dragons, buffs, clear jungle camps, and get baron at 20 since u have all the map control and enemy cant contest (This is bots though and bots dont roam) so just get drags/buffs/baron at 20 and you should be fed enough to get turrets with baron and end easily
4. you get those boxes from playing games, just like you get keys, you can get skins, icons, champions, mastery tokens if you get an S on a champ in a game, it doesnt matter when u open them , after you get three you upgrade into a random champ permanent that you get to keep for free
had a lot of free time so didnt mind typing all this, hope it helps lol

Hey brahs, haven't played since early Season 6. I'm going to do my provisionals this weekend, my main roles being Sup, Top, and Jung.
Just wanted to know who is OP in each lane right now, just so I can get through these easier.

I disagree with the brahs above advising the new brah to stick with a few champions. Imo when leveling to 30 you want to try as many champions as possible to learn what each one does, sticking to a few champions works better when you want to climb in ranked.

just play all roles available for free and see what happens. but dont jungle as you need tier 3 runes and smite (lvl 10) for it to be viable or jungle will rape you.
try get familiar with the items and just follow the build guide for recommended items for the champions for now
try have fun and dont listen to the retards in game that are mostly likely on a 2nd or 3rd account
