Stopped by A. Lange & Shne while Xmas shopping at the mall. My god..I remember seeing ( this article ) on HODINKEE about the grey dial Saxonia and liking it, but in person it's even better. Wish I could see it in the pink gold as well. The Saxonia really deserves more cred, it's so damn wearable. The case and lug thickness is great on the wrist.

Also checked out a pink gold Langematik Perpetual, one of my favorite looking movements with dat microrotor. A complicated watch that still wears great, 38.5mm diameter and not too thick.

Also checked out a Patek 5170 which was pretty sick. Didn't snap any pics so these aren't mine. It's subtle but still a pretty hnnnng watch.

Rather than purchasing a Sub (114060), I've decided to snag an SMP (212.30.41.20.03.001) and a Speedy (3577.50):

Still want a Sub - and I will acquire one someday, but the SMP will suit me now. Additionally, it leaves me with just enough to acquire that gorgeous Speedy.

Ultimately, that's 3 Omegas in my collection:
3551.20 (Speedmaster Broad Arrow; chronograph )
3577.50 (Speedmaster "From the Moon to Mars" Professional; chronograph )
212.30.41.20.03.001 (Seamaster Professional; diver )

Happy collector.

I bought that Speedy, just to flip for a quick gain. MUCH better in person. Really liked the colors, popped.

What do you guys think of this watch?

ashford.com/us/watches/baume-and-mercier/classima-executives/MOA10098.pid?nid=cpg_cat680049&so=82

Don't know too much about watches but I like how it looks. Not too flashy. Any other suggestions for a watch in the 500-800 range?

Finished my last exam today, and am currently at the campus pub waiting for a friend to join. My professor had a colleague sitting and chatting with him during our exam, when I handed in my paper I noticed he was wearing an FP Journe bleu. I complimented him on it and he said outside of watch collectors it's never drawn attention.

brown or cognac croc would probably look really good. If you have the match for it and the attire even a green or blue croc strap would look great with that black dial

Google the watch model+strap material you like and check out images may find some inspiration there.

Edit: I did just that and found this pick, I think it looks excellent and very versatile to match with cloths, granted you have a belt+shoes in similar color to match the leather

thanks
MWWC will probably not approve on that brand, but I'll say this: you'll probably get more compliments on it then if you'd have an Omega…such is life.

That being said it all depends on your priorities and your budget. Knowing that, these folks here will point you in the right horological direction.

MVMT watches are a fashion watch, and not highly regarded for their movement/quality, but at the end of the day what matters in starting your watch collection is that you get a watch that you like. It's a good enough looking watch and you will get compliments on it, but that's a brand you buy for the looks and not for the movement.

I love Mondays, cause that's when the mailman brings me the most watches. This one just arrived today. I haven't had time to take decent pics yet, but it's so immaculate!

It looks way better in the flesh than in this crappy pic
